Full map coop any% Basically you try to run a full coop mission and get to the victory screen as fast as your team can go Any chance we could make this a thing?
I'm a bit hesitant to add multiplayer categories, a Local Play Coop Any% Category could be viable if you're interested. Where a single player has to get through a coop mission the quickest.
This is the same guy as before, if there was to be an any% local play category, would there be separate ones for team or day/night?
I think there def should be a separate category for teams, as for day and night, night is barely different, just slightly harder, so maybe it should be added only if someone wants to run night? I managed to get a decent run on Refinery, It was fun figuring it all out and pulling it off was not easy, definitely feel like my co-op skills massively improved in just a day lol.
Now i'm noticing the true amount of randomness in co-op. Sometimes can be just two points to defend, while most of the time it will be three, which means you lose 90 sec and risk dying. Enemy accuracy is very random too, can hit you 2 times in a row from away. The support enemy ai calls can have a massive impact too, i.e. smoke vs poison smoke. Even the enemy equipment and behavior is pretty much random too, they can all spread evenly, come from same route, or come somewhere from behind, so defenses are down to luck when there is no perfect spot. This is probs for co-op variety's sake, but for a speedrun this amount of rng is frustrating to me, though if these new categories are added, i'll still try to submit something.
2 years but here's my thought: some of the randomness you have mentioned are actually predictable and, even controllable. Of course I had to bear numerous (1,000 times of) resets and retries, but that's the nature of speedrun/RTA anyways.
If I am to suggest new categories, because I have forget one by myself and run some already, they are...
- Local Play, {Map Name}, Checkpoint {Faction} Any% NoDeath
→ mostly Tideway Security or Ministry Security unless you want to play other maps (like me). Death of player actor revokes the run, no matter the cause is.
- Local Play, {Map Name}, Checkpoint {Faction} Any% Solo (PC Only)
→ PC Only because you need to have certain config in Game.ini to remove friendly bots.
- Local Play, {Map Name}, Survival Any%
→ Pretty self-explanatory.
- Local Play, {Map Name}, Survival Any% NoCrate
→ (I haven't finished this yet)
- Co-op, {Map Name}, Survival Any% (PC Only)
→ In a community server with official/regular config, speedrun of multiplayer may be possible.
