How to Run Crash

Crash is another easy to learn, hard to master character. He's able to deal tons of damage quickly, so he has no need to move for most fights, making his runs mainly about optimization. The best strat for him is to find a vantage point where the boss is always in range, get as close as possible, and shoot both Remote Bombs and normal Crash Bombs as fast as possible. Only one of each is allowed on screen at once, so it's important to be as close to the boss as possible. An alternative strat that has been less tested, but may possibly be faster, would be to spam Crash Bomb and Homing Crash Bomb. When Crash uses Special 2 midair, he will fire a Crash Bomb that will aim in a straight line towards the nearest enemy. The difficulty with this strat is that the Homing Bombs will not fire above Crash, so to run this strat, it requires both staying in a position that Crash Bombs can hit the boss, while also jumping to fire Homing Crash Bombs, and making sure to only shoot the Homing Bombs while Crash is higher than the boss. The advantage to this is that you're able to deal the same damage as the Crash/Remote Bombs strat, but for drastically less EP.

Due to Crash's high damage output, he goes very well with Mega in multiplayer runs. This is because, using Rush Jet, Crash, no longer needs to jump to hit the boss, potentially doubling the damage over time of half the bosses.

How to Run Mega

Mega is fairly easy to run, since he is one of the characters that can deal enough damage to kill without having to move. Because of this, he is easy to learn, but hard to master. The current strat with Mega is to ride Rush Jet as close to the boss's hitbox as possible, and spam shoot them. Because of this, to make new records, it's entirely based on small optimizations, such as calling Rush as late as possible, charging your Buster before the boss becomes vulnerable, and firing as soon as they are. With Rush Jet, Mega can also be very helpful for multiplayer runs, by calling Rush and allowing all players to ride on him. When doing this, be sure to be the first one to get on Rush, or else it will drain the other player/s's EP. A slight optimization for multiplayer Mega is that usually, there is enough EP for Mega to steal another player's power and use it once without prematurely exhausting his EP and despawning Rush.

Optimal Stage Entry in Wily Machine II (OUTDATED)

If you're attempting a world record for Wily Machine II, an important part of it will be to get to the boss as soon as possible. Unlike the other bosses, however, you can actually control how much time it takes to reach the boss, since there isn't really any stage before it. In solo runs, getting to the boss teleporter is fairly easy, but to optimize time, there are some very simple movement options to get there as fast as possible.
For characters with a slide and normal speed, it's fastest to slide from your starting point, and hold left the whole time. You'll move as fast as possible and land on the block closest to the teleporter. From there, just slide and jump to the teleporter.
For heavies like Air Man and Wood Man without a slide, the fastest option is to turn and wavedash towards the teleporter as fast as possible. Due to Wood Man's speed, however, he will need to move forward a bit before wavedashing, or he will lose his wavedash momentum by the time he leaves the starting platform.
For Hot Man, it's similar to normal character strats. Do a slide from his starting point to move as fast as possible. However, because Hot Man is so much slower than all the other characters, he will need to perform a frame perfect jump at the very end of the platform. Otherwise, he'll land on the bottom block and waste time on several jumps. Since he's so slow, it's recommended that he slide on the block before the teleporter.
Finally, Quick Man. Since he's the fastest, sliding isn't necessary, unless only a few frames need to be saved. Thanks to Quick Man's speed, he can actually jump directly from the starting platform to the teleporter platform. As long as he jumps right at the very end of the platform, Quick Man can clear all the way to the teleporter, allowing him to potentially enter the fight in about 1 second.
