So, I recently took a hiatus from mcbe speedrunning as a result of lack of interest and demotivation. I was still closely following the community, although I was not doing runs myself. After discussing with a few friends in the community, I have decided to start up mcbe speedrunning again. My favorite category is ssg mobile, but I’m not very confident that I can be competitive in it on 1.16.201. I have decided I will still run the category even if I’m not competitive in it, but I wanted to ask you all your opinions on a question I have. Can a 1.16.201 runner compete with pre 1.16.100 runners in this category? My thoughts are, yes but it will take more rng to get a good run. Thank you all for reading through this long post.

I think that a split for 1.16.100 is probably a good option because of pearls

Well, you can talk to mods about this but I think it’s fair especially considering that both of the glitchless wr’s in mobile are held by a touchscreen player.

Now ssg is totally dead for me cause the only way I can play multiplayer is to update so I updated and now my trades are crap and I can’t get pearls in ssg at all.

I feel like that would be a good idea for just pc because console and mobile I believe cannot change versions. So I think it’s a great idea for pc.

I do this. If you use a mobile device, but you have a controller that is connected through bluetooth or a usb, then it counts as mobile. Whatever you use to open Minecraft and run Minecraft is what it is counted as.

I would ask a verifier on the discord or in a dm. Im not really sure because it says the timer starts on the first frame of movement.
