I think segmented runs are mostly for games that people find it hard to do in one sitting, like the game is totally exhausting.
I think people should run King's Field games more often. They are cult games known for difficulty and freakouts. The older version of Dark Souls by FromSoftware.

Well, the rules don't seem to specify RTA. And FF9 states that segmented runs are fine. So It seems fine for the others, especially 7 and 8 to do segment runs.
It says consoles allowed are PS1 and PS2, but it doesn't say Emulator. It also doesn't mention that it's banned are anything else. FF8 says emulator is allowed, but won't complete WR. So what does this mean?
So I would speedrun games like Final Fantasy, but that might require me to move, which should hopefully happen early next year. Problem is my dad and I live in the same room because we live in our's sister's house and he tends to watch the TV which my laptop mic picks up. Is there a possible way or setting to get rid of of TV background noise? Plus I what I understand is that speedruns as long as 12 hours are done in one sitting, so what should I do to prepare myself for a very long speedrun? Or can I do segmented speedruns for games that take an average of 8+ hours? I know it's pretty much worthless for Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories considering it's gameplay and average hours being 3-4.
And what are some games that are finished in an average speedrun of 3-4 hours?
Is it fine for viewers? And if I stream a bitrate that is above 360p, but the stream remais 360p, what does that mean? And I ask this about both emulators and consoles.
So here's the deal. I lost connection while I was testing my stream. I run my streams on an emulator on my laptop with OBS Studio and my Internet connection runs on Wi-Fi. Then I started my stream and was streaming smoothly until 20 minutes and my kbs went from 500-700 straight down to 0 and continued varying from 0-30. I don't think my bitrate is the problem as I can stream fine without lagging with it, even when someone's watching TV with Wi-Fi. I have 12 GB RAM on my laptop. So can someone tell me if something is interfering with my stream?
Ok, so I think I might have figured something out after testing bitrates. The colored box in the bottom right corner of OBS is green when the stream is smooth and lags more when it goes yellow, orange, and red. So 550 should be good for me.
Ok, so I managed to record my stream at 400 bitrate without lag for 2 hours and 16 minutes. I got up to 15k frames dropped and 10%. What part of these do you start to lag?
Well, I have 450 video bitrate. 96 Audio Bitrate. Switched from Houston to Dallas as test says Dallas has better connection. My upload speed is usually around 0.80 mbs. I assume other connections like the desktop computer and tv are a factor as well?
Last night, I was streaming Xenogears and it was smooth until the frame rate dropped low enough. Can frame rate option in OBS help with this as well?
My stream said 16 hours on my videos page on the black time bar. But when I actually watch it, it says 51 minutes, the correct time which I actually recorded with OBS. Apparently the timer was continuing overnight while OBS was closed.
The time is continuing to go up as If I was streaming. I don't know why this is happening, but I have definitely checked that I stopped streaming and recording on OBS. Anyone know something about this?
It really depends on the game which emulator you can use if it is allowed. For example, speedrunning Spyro the Dragon on an emulator is fine as long as you use one of the correct versions listed in the rules.
I have no idea what to stream. I tend to go view Ic3lion and Cordellium most of the time.
