Do not confuse it with crackdown, which is a fps. Crack Down is a topdown shootee, placing bombs.

The part of the game you know the best is the part to the first usual reset point. That is if you dont practice the hard parts a lot.
On youtube I got videos of my old runs with mistakes. You can see the progress from bad to a good time. Also on GDQ and ESA you see that it doesnt go flawless most of the time.
Just keep running and practicing to become good. Nothing goes flawless in a run. Even if it seems that way, there are several tiny mistakes to be spotted.
Crack Down (Sega genesis, WiiVC and pc Megadrive collection). The steam version has a wallglitch that can reduce the run to under 10min. All versions have it, only only the pc version can do it without hardware modification, as it requires U+D+L at the same time.
My grandmother was a gamer. Always had the latest system since the PSX. Dunno what got her into it, but she was always playing RPGs and puzzlegames when she played.
Some people log in with their phone at work. They dont have time to check runs during that, and should not feel pressed. They can set a day where they check runs where they normally have time. People just got to have patience.
I livestream all my runs. Makes it a lot easier for me not having to upload the video.
It depends on the community, but if they ask that, the entire emulator is required.
@alkaline_ice Recent drama on the MMX series has show us CriscoWild's issues. In my opinion, Crisco is not yet ready to be a mod. And from the screenshot provides, does he even have interrest in running the game? I think not.
That game, the WR holder ran the game 4 hours/day and just left it on for the events. The do have a life, that game allows people to have a life.
For WR a video should be required in my opinion. Just using your phone to record and upload is enough. I can with ease forge screenshots, making it look like real if not very carefully examinated.

I do suggest to start at new game and finish at last screen transition after final input for ease.
World of illusion treats it as the same category. 1P2C is harder than 2 players in that game.
SDA was the first, but only the best submitted run to them gets accepted. They must be done on the official console, so no emulators. And some games only have info on there. But more and more are turning over to speedrun.com and that info now start appearing here as well.
I say go to the TAS site and look at submissions. It only gets accepted if the community finds it entertaining. TAS and speedrunners do work together to improve games. There are cases where runners asked TAS makers to find an alternative strat for players to make the route more consistant. It is still one community, but different branches. You can even see that in big speedrunning events.
The only thing I would agree on is that there can be a page that has the most common pitfalls or FAQ for new runners. There is s forumpost with it, but newcomers do not always know where to look. A simple link to IF NEW LOOK HERE can help a lot already.
Welcome. I loved Streets of Rage, but I am terrible in it. It is good to see a fellow Genesis/Mega Drive speedrunner joining.
You don't have to master a game to run it. There are so many good genesis games, including those you have listed. I hope to catch your stream at times.
