I am only disappointed that it had to be errupted in here once again before anyone gave any proof or reasoning. Please use this topic for what it is, and that is not a war about 1 run.
Better quality does not mean harder to cheat. They will know better where to splice, the right frames and the sound. Due the better quality, and a bit if research and patience, splicing can even be harder to spot. So your real reason for it is flawed.
And why the timer? Also could not be the real reason. You can add a timer after recording and it can still look real. Hence why a mod retimes.
Also on those speedrun or gaming events, some are captured by pointing a cam on the screen to keep it going while having tech isssues. If they break their pb, you will face a big issue. Rejecting it while millions have seen it is a bad idea, but accepting it means you gotta change rules. I know this happened on an arcade event with VS super mario bros, and there might be more instances.
And if you want for it to be good quality, then even PC games might be better recorded with a camera. I know several games I play lag while livestreaming. If I want to run it, a cam facing the screen gives better quality than having to lower the recordings quality. Those with bad pcs cant run a game then according to oxknifer's rule.
A timer on screen is not a requirement even. It is an example of a bad/lazy moderator who wants his work done for him. I retime the runs of the game I am a moderator of to see if it was accurate, before taking a closer look at the videos. Would not change if there are more games of it. The only reason I would reject a run when it has no sound is if I find it suspicious.
Also, I personally think it is harder to splice a run if an external recording is used. Especially if part of the scenery captured is not static, like a cat moving around. How would you explain when a cat disappears from the top of your TV when it is laying there, and then appear in the same spot 5 seconds later?

@JessicaSix It seems you don't understand the point. Besides, I am not earning money with those things, so there you are wrong as well. I know the legal side of this, and you can copy it for fair use, being it only yourself. One has said this before, but you clearly hate all forms of emulation. You make that cloud your judgement and attack others. I am not only talking about the legal side of emulation, but also of FANGAMES, which is illegal. Yet many people are running and playing fangames. Nintendo tries to take some down, but they can't keep up with all that. Taking down big distribution sites is all they can do. I stated time and time again why Nintendo can't take action against this site. If you dislike the use of emulators, I believe Speed Demons Archives is console only. But then again, that is outdated.
I know from all your posts I have seen before from you that you want emulators gone from this site. It won't happen, as it is still legal. No matter what Nintendo says, no matter what their lawyers say, it is legal. The distribution is not legal, and that is where the issue lies with those sites. We don't share roms or anything here, nor tell people where to get it.
For Lufia 2, you are better off asking on the forums of the game. However, I do notice a lack of responses of the mods there. There are mods that have logged in recently, why not try contacting them on one of their social media with questions about Lufia 2. I believe RNG manipulation is unique for each game, so I doubt that will be useful for you.
I myself do not run RPG's, since I prefer short runs. I do enjoy watching them from time to time, and prefer to play them casually.
Distribute, not for own use. Nintendo has no case against those using roms and emulators, as Nintendo can't prove anything. They have to prove that the user downloaded it. This is why Nintendo go after sites that distribute them, not after sites or users that use emulators. They know that most here use it, and if they were legally right, they can take so many people down by going here. Yet they don't, for two reasons. 1: Bad publicity, and 2: They have no case.
They do have a case against those playing/making/distributing romhacks.
@JessicaSix Here you are wrong. If you dump both the cartridge rom and console bios on your computer, and make an emulator around it, it is legal. Or put the rom on the flashcard and play it on the original console. If you download or distribute said rom, then it is no longer legal.
And that is why Nintendo can't take action against individuals and are targeting those that distribute it. That is why Nintendo can't try to take legal actions against this site either.
Emulation is not illegal. Every VC game runs on an emulator. These are officially released roms+emulators by Nintendo/sega/etc. Others forms of emulation however, it is illegal. The only gray line is, dumping your console bios and game on the computer to emulate it there.
Also, fangames also fall under copyright. Nintendo has shut down several fangame projects. And this also include romhacks. Nintendo is in the last years fighting hard against this.

Submit every time you improve your time, even if your position stays the same on the leaderboard.
If your run is rejected without info, be polite and ask for a reason. Then you can submit it correctly the next time.
Be patient when you've submitted. Not all runs are verified within a day. If it last longer than a week, try to contact the game's mod. If it last longer than 3 weeks and you've heard nothing on contact request attempts, you can request to become moderator.
Some games have different prices, expecially the older games.
I disagree with the recommended streaming equipment.
Still let it be a lesson for you, no matter what the mods say. Always check obs before recording/streaming.
Also dont scale your desktop items, it really messes up with screen sizes and obs.
