I haven't done extensive testing towards the accuracy of the IGT but from what I've seen it seems to be accurate. I started doing mine in RTA since that's just what was done before me though I always did wonder about doing the timing using IGT. Currently there are no records in the level leaderboards but as long as we can confirm that the IGT is accurate, I definitely feel like they should be done using the IGT. The argument I can see being for using RTA in full game runs is that it is much faster to just pass through the end of level rather than waiting for the time to show up. On top of that, I'm pretty sure the cutscenes do not contribute towards the IGT so people not skipping them quickly would affect their RTA while not affecting their IGT.

Honestly I'm all for doing IGT but we would need to test it in depth first (on both 360 and One) as I think it is a better way to time as well (along with this, loading times could be tested as well). I have been thinking of improving my pb/record anyways as I think a sub 2 RTA is easily possible so this is a good way to force me into actually doing runs again. We will have to see what others think as well though.

Little late here, but is there a way to just see total in game time after a run is over? I do my runs from a fresh file with no profile loaded so if there's like a total time played thing we can just use that, but adding up time in levels and foregoing skipping the intermissions seems silly i thats the only way it can work. I haven't played in a while and my system's not hooked up in a reasonable way so I can't really check at the moment, so get back to me.

I agree that ILs should use the in game timer, as there is no advantage to skipping that screen in an IL run anyways.

Also, under no circumstances are we going to separate categories based on load times. I'm just going to dispel that fantasy up front right here and now. :)
