Getting turbo features on PC is literally the easiest thing to setup. You do not have to buy a turbo controller in order to have turbo features. You do not have to buy a macro keyboard to have turbo features. Programs like Joy2Key is free and easy to setup, with multiple profiles for different controller layouts. Steam Controller Configurations (which is what I use) is built right in and is just as easy to setup to have turbo features. So your argument that having turbo be the default for PC will make it less accessible is invalid.

TURBO DOES NOT MAKE YOU FASTER AT THE GAME. IT LITERALLY DECREASES YOUR FPS WHEN YOU ARE USING TURBO.

Giving yourself carpal tunnel by mashing as fast as possible is not a skill.

I run turbo exclusively for any game I speedrun purely because I DO have wrists/thumb pain from mashing through dialogue. I had to buy wrists and thumb supports to combat the pain from speedrunning FF7 alone. FF9 is another game I use turbo on, purely because the one and only run I did without turbo caused me significant pain for a week afterwards.

Turbo on PC is the easiest and most accessible thing to achieve. Console is completely different because you actually do have to buy special equipment in order to use turbo features. So having a separate category on Console makes perfect sense, however with PC, having turbo makes sense and can be easily identified by a selection option when submitting a run. I specifically asked Zheal to enable that feature so people can see which runs have turbo and which don't.

I also don't like the argument that because PC any% is so short its not worth using or allowing turbo. All that argument is doing is gatekeeping a community that should be open and available for anyone. This discourse of turbo use is doing nothing good for this community and you should feel bad for starting it again.

I think it may be time to add a category to the leaderboard for PC All Bosses w/Warps. There at least 4-5 runners who have completed runs of this category, and since it is wildly different than the current All Bosses No Slots category I think its time to add this new category.

I'm happy to discuss rules for this category before setting up the leaderboard so that submissions can be made that don't violate rules the community at large agree with. No turbo, no slots, etc. Considering the amount of times this category requires a S&Q I would like to suggest that an FPS limiter NOT be applied to this category, keeping this open to Free FPS.

Anyways TLDR: New category please!

I would like to see what the moderators have to say. No where in the rules does it say flash carts aren't allowed. I am using the SD2SNES, playing on an original SNES. The SD2SNES is using the Super GameBoy 2 BIOS to play the rom.

So I have been learning this game recently and I have questions about submitting. Currently I am playing on my SNES console with a SD2SNES FXPAK Pro cart. The cart allows me to run GB and some GBC using Super GameBoy or Super GameBoy 2. I am using the Super GameBoy 2 seeing as that is what the rules say to use. I just wanted to make sure that these runs will be eligible for submission. When I record I am showing the entire capture including the Super GameBoy 2 portion of it as well so it can be verified as a Super GameBoy 2 operating the game.

I just want to make sure that when I do submit I use the correct category, and if this method would be considered Super GameBoy 2 submissions.

What would it take to get a new category for PC All Bosses with Warps? Currently the route petfriendamy has been working on we defeat Materia Keeper multiple times as part of the wrong warping method. I am starting to run this route and I know a few others that are planning on making run attempts of this particular category.

As far as I know, the FPS is determined by the CPU, not necessarily the GPU. I have a Ryzen 5 1500x and an RX 580 and I can't make the game run faster than 31 FPS. From what I remember an older laptop cpu was used in the WR run of the no slots/warps run of Free FPS as well as the NG+ Free FPS. If you really want to achieve the 34-36 FPS, I would as those runners who have those frame rates if they could tell you the specs of their PC's.

Alt + F4 is definitely the fastest way, but unfortunately there is no way to get back to the start screen from within the game.

can you be anymore specific with the details? which card was acquired? was it during the Hot & Cold mini game digging it up or was it from a chocograph chest on the world map? Was it bought from Mene with 1800 points? What color was his chocobo? Which cutscene froze?
