What does everyone feel about permissibility of entering debug mode before a run solely to change control method so that A/B are low and high jump? I haven't tried level 2 yet but it strikes me as plausibly more viable with that in place, and the game explicitly offers you the option after you complete level 1 so there's an argument that it's intended.
Hi, just writing to discuss emulation rules. Specifically I object to the rules requiring use of Fusion - it's well known as a very inaccurate emulator unsuitable outside of casual gaming and there are far better options available such as RetroArch/gpgx, or Bizhawk. Without one of those as permitted I wouldn't be inclined to submit runs.
Just a mod note to clarify to new and existing runners: Fusion emulator is now NOT acceptable for runs. Any future run submitted with it will be rejected. Please use Bizhawk or RetroArch.

As the effective super of the board for the last few years I feel justified in acting unilaterally on this. Fusion emulator is now not acceptable for runs, any future run that uses it will be rejected. It is well known as being inaccurate and deprecated. Please use Bizhawk or RetroArch in future. Thanks!

Hey guys, have learned the game and the one thing I'm struggling with is the first boss bird. I can see there's a manip but I can't get it regularly and would love any pointers on both that and any easy safe setup.
Hey DB! I noticed your run time ends at the you win text, but rules state it's when you select yes to final question. I think the you win text makes sense and is the better end.
I also wanna mention the game was PAL exclusive: https://segaretro.org/Trivial_Pursuit:_Genus_Edition
I believe the run you've submitted is running at 60fps - I think it'd be more accurate to remove that and just have PAL runs.
I'm currently using Bizhawk 2.9.1 and every time I do attempts, swimsuit is in the same closet each time. Wanted to check whether this is a potential issue?
Hiya! I wish to discuss objection to runs on the board.
- The SMS port of Arcade Smash Hits was a Europe exclusive release. Citations:

Accordingly I believe all runs should be submitted at 50fps. Andresfgp's run shows 60fps. When I looked at Walgrey's runs today I noticed the bgm playing faster, so these runs are at 60fps too. I think the ruleset should be updated, 60fps runs rejected, and runners to resubmit using 50fps. Given how short/trivial the categories are this feels reasonable.
- I strenuously object to the admittance of any runs done on Fusion emulator. This has for a long time been regarded as highly inaccurate and known to be especially poor at emulating lag. We must presume one day that PB battles will rest on handfuls of frames, so it is better to establish that baseline now. I notice andres you have used retroarch on an Aleste run so I have no doubt you'd be able to use that or even SMSHawk.
New board, tender for a co-mod as best practice. Ideally you should intend to run the game and have experience but I can walk you through basic mod work if you're interested so don't shy away if you're new! Message here any time if you're interested.
I've been appointed as super due to previous mod inactivity. I have self-verified my run and encourage observers to look that over for verification. As good practice I'd like to have a second mod - if you're interested let me know! You don't have to have mod experience as I'm happy to do the heavy lifting and/or guide you in how to mod, though ideally you should be a runner of the game.
As best practice I'd like to have a second mod for the game. Ideally you'd be experienced in running and modding SMS or other retro games but you don't have to be as I'd be happy to take you through the process. This is a tiny board so you would have barely any work. If you'd like to join in, reply here any time!

Hi guys, just wanted to post and ask what area we think we should start using milliseconds in for any%. Top runners are currently working toward sub 5:50, I think a consistent approach would be to add ms either on runs below 6:00 or 5:55. Thoughts welcome!
Hiya, just a post to say I've updated Paszq's fantastic stage-maps with enemy info, etc, and made a basic tuto for new runners. I intend this week to update purchase guidance into an accompanying document. Hope to see new runners!
Hi! I've created the SR page for Zany Golf, and as good practice it'd be great if we can get a second moderator, who is familiar with Amiga/Atari/Apple/DOS speedruns.
If you're interested you can respond here any time.
Thus far I've grouped computer platforms together since I anticipate little interest, and I don't know how much loading/time difference exists between them. So if you submit runs for those platforms, the page will display all times in one board. Genesis is a separate category since the controls are radically different, and there is only a 9 hole option.
If you have any knowledge/experience of conventions of computer boards, or suggestions for management of this board, I'd love to hear from you!
