Categories are already split. Speaking of which, two more categories were added: 42069 and all numbers, both of which have rules listed in the spreadsheet
I also have a lot of submissions to add so I'll get them done soon
@AslanTZ error% is just a simple category to start off with, and are open to all category suggestions. I've been requested overflow twice now, so that's a category likely to be added. If you have any ideas for cats over 20 seconds, lmk
Yes, the leaderboard is the spreadsheet I linked in my first post, I will retime and add your run
Edit: Retimed to 1.200 in SPRT
As stated in the title, this thread will be used to track the Calculator speedrun, as it is not allowed to have an official category on the site.
Below is a link for the leaderboard and rules page: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wUjzS9iXbfvzWYNmndkDMuZILcH0iZwkdl0JmXghJNs/edit?usp=sharing
Current rules are subject to change if there needs to be more clarification. Currently, only 1 category is available with 4 sub categories. This is to gauge interest, but more categories will be added based on request. Submissions can be handled through the thread or dms.
Well to start off, you should be active in the communities you are trying to mod in, and be aware of how rules are enforced and proper ways of timing. Simply asking for mod/verifier won't work most of the time if you aren't involved in the communities.
It would be nice, as members to src, to know if there is a checklist site staff go down for unbanning runners on the site, or if they just unban users because "they are convincing enough" or "just ask".
If there isn't one there definitely should be a list created based on different offenses (if any site staff are reading this thread, pls do this).
@Zanon I agree with all of this. I believe community bans should be a feature put in place in the future, as well as public statements on why users were banned in the first place. I do see one downside of this though, which is corrupt mods could ban users based on opposing opinions, which is part of my assumption why this isn't a feature yet. But once again, along with mod farming, that is a topic for another thread.
@Shore I understand my statement about underage runners did not come across correctly, and was not meant to have an impact on the Jaypin topic. Disregard that part of my message because it does no deal with this thread.
Edit: Yes @Liv I missed a part of the Convo and thought that the underage topic came up in an early page

To start off, thanks for the info on 7H3, I was unaware that communities already blacklisted this runner and removed their times, as it was explained to me in a separate way.
-
I never once said that Jaypin shouldn't be blacklisted from leaderboards in my last post, I said he should be treated fairly. What this was supposed to mean was communities that 7H3 is banned in, Jaypin should be as well. Communities Jaypin is banned in, 7H3 should be banned in, if this makes sense, and users such as these.
-
Being underage on this site is equivalent in my eyes to being a cheater, not because they take away from the boards, but for the safety of the child. The less exposure the underage runner has in the community, the less likely they are to be taken advantage of by older runners. This is why I believe underage runners should have EVERY SINGLE ONE of their runs removed from the site, including all social media links, for their own safety.
-
Mod farming is a whole different discussion that needs to take place in a separate thread, since there is a lot to unpack on that topic.
(Probably timed a little inaccurate cause I timed this on mobile)
Rules of error%:
- Must be done in the default calculator application for your specific operating system(android, iOS, windows, or Google default calculator).
- Timed from first input to first visible frame of error text.
- Keyboard is not allowed for Android or iOS. Emulator is also not allowed.
- Any method of receiving an error message is allowed, with exception to: copy+paste, reloading previous calculations, macros.
I also find it quite confusing why everyone is pushing for jaypin to be blacklisted from a ton of games, while 7H3 is also banned for cheating and has most of their runs still up? Not to even mention another banned users, banned for the reason of being "underage", and having their runs remain up as well. Whatever your conclusion is on jaypin, you should at least treat these users alike.
Man this thread is pretty toxic and mango man hasn't even said a word yet
You guys can rightfully ban jaypin from your community boards, but there's no need to remove all of their runs. Everyone has already talked about the key aspects of this topic, and it's pretty clear everyone who has spoken in this thread has made up their minds.
For some of the boards that I'm a part of the mod team for, we have decided to keep his runs up. His runs were analyzed and compared to other submissions, and there was nothing off with these runs. We have no reason to ban him from our community or take down his runs (other communities I'm in, we are still going over runs). I fully understand why he will be banned in certain communities, and that is up to the mod teams of those communities, but this is where we stand as of now.
Now for runners in this thread who do not moderate a community, but Jaypin has a run in the game, should present all info to the moderation team, and they should analyze his runs, and make a decision that way.
Everyone else can stfu because this thread is just going in a big circle now
I disagree with this, there's a difference between someone who cheats runs and someone who is incompetent to moderate boards. While Jaypin did cheat two runs and is most likely banned from these two game boards, it doesn't mean he shouldn't be a moderator on other boards. From my knowledge of him, there hasn't been a case where he consistently mistimes runs, does not follow submission rules when verifying runs on boards he moderates, does not flex rules around different individuals, etc. I don't think someone who cheats runs should be banned from moderating. I think people who break moderation rules should be banned from moderating, and there's plenty of incompetent mods on this site who should not have the ability to mod, while Jaypin isn't one of these people.
