Google.com or the Pokémon discord (idk if they have resources readily available in there, just a suggestion).

Asking for/sharing ROMs through these forums is a big no-no.

USE THE GAME’S FORUMS AND TALK TO THE MODS DIRECTLY

You know, like this thread has been saying for 30 days lol. The game forums can be found on the panel on the left side of every LB. the panel has other links including Guides, Resources, etc

The same answer from almost a month ago still applies - you want to ask in the game’s forums.

But if a run isn’t a co-op a run and it’s not setup to accept 2 players (as evident by every other run in the category) then it is single player. For what it’s worth, most runs are single player
picture proof should be allowed
No, it really shouldn’t be. I can think of 2 issues right off the bat.

 1. It can take 5 minutes of Google searching to find an image of the end of the game. Doesn’t prove you did a run.

 2. How do you define a picture showing a “substantial portion” of a game? A timer next to it means nothing since that’s easy to fake too.

A picture doesn’t verify you actually did the run, especially when it comes to requesting new games. And if it can’t be verified that you did a run, then it goes back to boards ending up abandoned with no runs ever submitted because people “thought they might do a run in the future” but never do (this has happened a lot in the past, hence why the video of substantial proof rule was put in place for requesting games).

People aren’t submitting game requests to the site without proof. If they are, then the game requests are rejected since you need a run of a substantial portion of the game to have it accepted.

It’s not allowed to request games without a run first to prevent empty LBs from being set up and abandoned with never any activity.

This is something you'd probably want to discuss with the Undertale community.

You can find their discord server here https://www.speedrun.com/undertale/thread/4hum8

Well they literally just said why - sometimes older controllers have issues that can be resolved with another controller.

For example, N64 control sticks are known for being hot garbage. Over time they wear out very quickly and end up not functioning correctly. So, people tend to use GC controllers if they can because they have much more reliable control sticks.

It looks like in the case of RE2, it needs a good control pad and control pads on Nintendo controllers can often end up sticking (at least in my experience) while PS/PS2 ones are better.

Yeah, DS/3DS capture cards will run you around $250 minimum for the capture card installation if it's from a respectable source.

If you go that route though, whoever installs the capture board should offer the driver downloads (including Mac versions). If you don't see it listed, double check with the seller before purchasing.

Not that I know of. But the common alternative to shitty N64 controllers is to get a GameCube to N64 adapter.

The ACE run of Zelda 1 is audio cue based. After spawning enough enemies you overflow the game’s sprite counter by spawning a staircase. The trick is to cause the overflow on a very specific part of the overworld music. The resulting overflow causes you to write your file names as code and it warps you to Zelda.

Miss the audio cue and you either warp back to the start of the map or you soft lock the game. The desired audio cue appears only twice in the overworld music cycle and one lasts a few frames longer than the other. But both are a small window.

@Lucidus I’m not an admin, you’re right. I’m just clarifying how this thread works since your original request only said you just wanted mod, not that you had a pending run or an issue where you couldn’t get a run verified/a question answered.

Since this thread is only checked every 7-10 days by kirkq, a lot of us try to help out by answering questions or clarifying things in the meantime.

Your main account isn’t even banned/deleted though (its been active for a month and was last online 20 minutes ago at this time of writing) so I don’t know what you’re talking about

@Lucidus Just asking for mod doesn’t mean you should get mod and if the super mod doesn’t acknowledge your mod request after 3 weeks (that would be impolite but they might just brush it off) that doesn’t mean you can use this thread either.

This thread is for last resorts when a mod is inactive or runs are not getting verified in a timely manner. If the mods for the game you’re requesting mod for are active and runs are being verified then that probably means you won’t get mod because they won’t need the help.

I’m other words, you cant use this thread to gain mod status when active mods don’t give it to you when you ask.

Here is the thread of valid emulators for SMW https://www.speedrun.com/smw/thread/8w7yc (BlueYoshi’s link has a rouge period at the end)

You’ll see that farther down the page someone asks about OpenEMU. It uses the bsnes core so you’ll be allowed to use it for runs.

Yeah that’s a known Elgato problem that it has capture delay if it’s a USB cap card.

Unfortunately there isn’t a good way around it that I know of aside from taking your headphones off and using your TV with low sound so it won’t be picked up by your mic. There might be ways to split the audio channels coming out of the PS4 as sending it to multiple outputs (headphones and XSplit) but I don’t know much about advanced audio configurations like that.

The long term and more expensive solution is to get an internal PCI Elgato which will have no/much less capture delay.
