Just point your phone at the TV. How you mount it to keep it steady and upright is up to you - you could buy a tripod of some kind or you can get creative with household items. Just make sure the video and lighting is clear enough so people can watch it and double check with the mods of the game you want to run to see if they have any additional rules surrounding phone recordings (stuff like needing audio to be audible).
Also make sure your phone has enough space to store the entire recording of course.
@PlayPod I haven't seen you anywhere in the community so let me ask you one thing. Why should we care about what you say? If you want to have a say join the community, do some KH runs and vote on the polls before you start talking.
This is a really really bad look. That user was a prospective runner of the game and instead of actually addressing their perfectly valid criticisms you post this aggressive paragraph. This is NOT how you do this.
All of those criticisms are perfectly valid.
Not everyone uses OBS. Not everyone streams via a PC. Not everyone uses Livesplit. Not everyone will understand how to configure this with the plugin.
These are all perfectly valid criticisms of this rule and can absolutely be seen as a detriment to new runners who aren’t familiar with it.
Instead if anyone actually addressing these concerns and explaining about how to deal with them, instead everyone just tried to prove their opinion wrong by throwing in “pay to win”. The user never even said they didn’t agree with it being fair, they just said they were discouraged by the complexity of the rule.
All anyone had to do was simply point them to the part of the OP that said mods can retime all runs if the runner can’t (huge props to you @Denhonator for actually doing this and trying to be helpful). Or even direct them to the discord to talk to them more.
Hopefully that user sees Denho’s post and keeps considering to do runs, but honestly, for an LB mod to be that hostile, nobody is ever gonna feel welcome criticizing anything again.
If you’re talking about finishing a run and saving that run while also restarting the timer in a single key press, then I’m pretty sure the answer is “no”. You’ll have to press the split key twice - once to save your PB after completing the run and once again to restart the timer when it’s time to begin a new run/attempt.
Unless I’m misunderstanding your question and what you’re trying to achieve.
Have you tried local recording and seeing if the audio fluctuates? That would help narrow down whether it’s an actual capture problem or an issue when streaming.
Okay we need more information.
Autosplitters really only work for PC games and someone has to actually write the autosplitter for the game. There’s additional software now that can do some autosplitting based on frames in a video feed, but someone also needs to see that up and take care of the images.
If you’re running a PC game, check with the mods and the community to see if they have an autosplitter for the game. If they do, they can assist you with the setup. If it’s not a PC game, then it’s a safe bet that no autosplitter exists since the software to split on video feeds is still very new.

HDMI capture cards can be pricy, especially if you want one with minimal delay. You could get something like Elgato HD60s which is an often recommended card and isn’t going to be super expensive either.
We can give you more specific recommendations if you share your desired price range.
Photos and videos aren’t hosted on the site, you need to upload both to an additional site (YouTube, Imgur, etc) and then paste the link to the video/image into the form (video in the video link, picture link in the run comment).
And I'm not asking about an SRC private message feature, even though I'd love to see one, because I guess we have to go through the user's info to contact them...
You do know that direct messages exist on the site, right? They've been available for I think a month or so now.
As for following a user, it's wholly pointless as there's almost no information you'd glean from that. A user's profile already shows you when they last logged on, and there's no real "activity" on this site aside from posting runs and making forum posts (both of which are tracked through a user's profile).
Idk, that's up to each community to decide and deal with. The site doesn't police how individual communities handle those types of situations (unless it's something egregious and the community complains about moderator behavior).
If someone is proof-calling a run, then they will most likely have a copy locally that they've been analyzing to build their case against the runner. Nobody just proof-calls a run without, well, proof. At that point the game's community decides what to do with the run in question (which will usually mean it gets removed).
A gv-usb2 capture card.
It does composite and s-video and will give you good quality at an affordable price ($40 USD or so). The driver install is in Japanese because it’s a Japanese product but there are guides online that can aid with that
I always recommend this guide to people who are looking to start streaming in decent quality with minimal expenses https://goo.gl/C78vWx
WiiVC is definitely not always slower than an N64. Certain games like OOT have a lower frame rate on the N64 than VC which means that WiiVC will just run better and faster overall.
Additionally, although PAL is usually slower than NTSC, PAL may still be the fastest version of a game to run on, so always check the LBs to see what the best version to use is.
This seems like a bad idea because usually the best way to figure out if a run is fake is to have a really deep understanding of the game and it’s mechanics (not just from a speedrunning perspective, but from an internal one). So having people post “suspicious” runs here isn’t really going to accomplish anything for you unless you have a vast understanding of many random games.
What exactly are you saying is the issue? That is says “years” instead of “year”? If so, yeah, that’s long been known about but it’s probably near the bottom of the list of things to fix on the site.
Probably none that you want to use to actually do runs.
But otherwise this is a question best asked Google in conjunction with whatever phone you have.
