To perform this, you must run through the level holding B and right without slowing down. Then super jump off the first koopa, wall jump to the top, then full jump from the spot shown to perform the FPG.
This method saves 1 frame rule (0.35 seconds) over the world record super jump strategy.
The wall jump I think has a couple frame window which changes it from D5 to D7 etc, but I can't be sure until pellsson comes out with the new LL practice rom.
I get it. I’m just saying if everyone asked for an exact time it would be a mess of a forum.
You could try privately messaging a mod or friend or other community member on discord/twitch/elsewhere who knows how to time as an alternative if you think you need a re-time ASAP.
There’s usually someone out there willing to help!
I understand, but that’s the process we have in place. If everyone submitted a new thread asking to have their run re-timed by the community as soon as possible, we’d have a totally clogged forum.
You could always submit it and let a mod time it officially
@youtubeman06 that's different because aldyn loaded a save state at the beginning ... not creating a save state in the middle of the run
@Darpey Coin count does not directly affect lag frame. Score does directly affect it. (coin count affects score, so coin count indirectly affects lag frame)
Here's how to avoid lag frame, per sockfolder
"to avoid getting the lag frame ever: add 500 to your score before hitting the bullet bill. If the number under the R is 0, 1, 2 or the number under the I is 0, you won't get the lag frame"
My rule of thumb for 8-3 is kill nothing unless you have to. That produces the most consistent pattern.
Additionally, for some frame rules, i’ve found it can depend on what frame you hit that hammer bro in the middle level. If you hit him early, on one of the first possible frames, you might get a different pattern than if you hit him late, on one of the last possible frames.
Here is the tutorial on xeroxfBBBB ... I highly recommend it as a safe, but fast, strategy until you are going for ~5:05 or lower.
(The other thing nice about xeroxfBBBB is it always gives you a predictable, high, final stairs koopa too)
Another strategy is the “xeroxfBBBB” created by xeroxfiend
It’s nearly 100% consistent and doesn’t waste much time (339 or 340 in game timer).
I exclusively use this in races, and it works with small or big mario
I’ll upload a video tutorial on it after I finish my coffee
I agree it looks like a reset,
but the stance of this board is that they wont accept runs unless the runner wants to submit it.
So aldyn is clear on his quest to be 459 to 456 since he doesn't want to submit it. His best time, per this board, is a 459 and that will stand that way now and forever going forward until aldyn gets a 456.
My point is...kosmic could withdraw all his runs today and be the first to 455 on his 9th run of all time, with no previous times ever.
Aldyn got a 458 and doesn't want to admit it
I hereby withdraw all my runs so I can be the first to get 456 with no previous prior PBs
Welp. There goes me never running all-stars :-)
Love this idea. Thanks Roy!
It took me 14 times to 8-4 to get my low 458 PB...and that was with 2 frame walljump, so yeah. It can take a long time.
