It came to my attention that the video provided by Razinuh, for the IL record of Deep in the Windy Valley was kind of suspicious. And the more I checked, the more I believe this run is not a 1:05.
First, at the very end, right before mario hits the tape, the timer actually moves. It could be some sort of graphical mistake, but it's really weird because when you go frame by frame, you see that the video is 60fps, but we can only see 30fps out of them. The timer actually moves during two identical frames.
Second, I remember when I speedran Buzzy: the book, the movie, the ride, I had a very hard time getting 24s because the timer actually continues 3 frames after you hit the pole. If you count the frames, mario hits the pole exactly 60 frames in the 434, but since the counter still goes for 3 more frames, it doesn't add up to a 434 but a 433.
Third! Just to be really sure, I opened my switch and tried to match the 434. Since the level is so linear it's not very hard to get a perfect time on it. And one thing that Razinuh doesn't seem to know is that you hit the pole 1 frame faster when you're big mario compared to small mario. Plus, that simili corner boost on the ceiling slope is not a thing, you can't gain time with this. Therefore I had one additional frame to spare over the runner, yet I've never been able to match his 434.
Therefore I strongly believe that we, unfortunately, have a cheater right there.

Since the former moderator was not active anymore I requested to be able to moderate this channel myself and revive the speedrunning of this game a bit.
The former categories, any% and underground championship% didn't make much sense to me as much a Rookie, Pro and Champion categories. Therefore I moved all the any% runs to "Pro" as I believe everyone used this to category so far. If your run has been falsely put in Pro, please let me know. Also I will not remove the Underground Championship category right now in case I missed something relevant and somebody wants to point it out to me, but I won't update the category and will eventually remove it.
I also added the Workout%, which is to beat the game as Rookie, Pro and Champion in a single sitting.
I would also like to encourage the use of autosplitters / livesplit, but I don't even know how to have one myself. If someone could make a tutorial on their respective platform, that'd be great!

I made an attempt at speedrunning this game a few minutes ago. It didn't take me long before to realize that I had much more loading time than the current run, which is not something that should matter. I have like 10 seconds of loading time when the run has 0.5s, which adds up very quickly. Therefore I believe loading times should be removed from total speedrunning time..
Second, why the speedrun in Pro instead of Rookie?
EDIT: I switched the game from my HDD to my SSD, and now my loading time is about 1s behind the current video, but this is still 1s lost for no reason.

I'm past the (seemingly) first chapter, just beat the pencil case, and went back to the village. There is an arena simulator in which it proposes you to beat 10 puzzles as fast as possible. Seems like a perfect new category to me!
My personal score so far is 18.56. It's not perfect but it's the best I could come up with on the first day of the game.

I tried to get sub 17s for a while, even recreated the level with this level ID: 9C7-3TD-8JF, so that people can get a time in miliseconds and see exactly how good was their run.
Very good speedrunners tried to speedrun the level but couldn't get a sub 17s. And since I'm in touch with Kingboo I asked him as well and he only got 17.131. For those who don't know who Kingboo is, he's the winner of the first ninji with a 19.797 as well as a constant top 5 worldwide in all subsequent ninjis.
That being said, sub 17 at this point is more than unlikely. And since the mods of the leaderboard just keep adding more WR ties (at the same time of having no motivation whatsoever to change anything about this massive WR tie), the list is just gonna get longer and longer until the game dies.
The mods are out of ideas on how to refuse a new category and just ignored the thread

The guy seems to upload more levels as time goes on, so an arbitrary amount of levels to speedrun could be nice, like the 10 first levels or something.
