You can downpatch the game using this video here. Note you will have to redo and make your speedrun saves again if you run NG+ as you will lose them all via downpatching so if you want to keep your saves if you decide to play on the latest patch I would recommend making a backup which is explain in this video. Hope this helps.
So in NG+ we use the Anti Tank Gun but shooting then reloading is slow. Swapping to your Pistol and instantly swapping back to the Anti Tank Gun will instantly reload the Anti Tank Gun which can save lots of time in bosses and most sections.
I Just got a 1:35:40 and sub 1:35 is without a doubt possible
What are you comparing against in livesplit because it sounds like you are comparing against real time instead of in game time?
I want to add something in here. We have separate boards for console runs and for runs on PC so there is no argument to be made about console having a larger size as we have separate boards for these versions and as DECosmic said GFWL coop is impossible to run as GFWL services no longer exist.
The fan patch was made to change a few things in the game that some people wanted and to also fix issues with the game being unable to boot properly which I had issues with until me and a few people fixed my game which now runs perfectly fine without GFWL or the fan patch.
Having runners submit runs using the patch and runners not using the patch can lead to a lot of arguments and a bit of controversy within the community.
We could maybe have sub categories for no fan patch and fan patch but this can also lead to invalid runs being submitted either side. Personally I'm okay for people to use the fan patch for casual play but when it comes down to speedruns they should be ran on the base game without the patch installed.
Late to this thread but if you backup your save data to a USB drive you can then delete your save game and start a new save and not make any save data when the game prompts you too and when you want to play with all your stuff just simply reinstall your save data to your ps4 from the USB you saved your data to.
In response to this the reason why this run was grandfathered in is due to the fact that LIN and DE were apart of the main game boards before the mods decided to make the switch to separate each board individually.
The run in question was done 5+ years ago and all runs that were on the board before me made the swap were automatically grandfathered in. Aster used to be a moderator for Lost in Nightmares and helped with the changing and addition of the new page for Lost in Nightmares individually.
Following the grandfathering all runs before Nov 26 2019 this was the date that we had decided to transfer all the runs over to this new page for Lost in Nightmares.
EDIT: I will be updating the forum post about the rules later today
I've play on PS4 Pro since the start of this year and i have noticed a huge difference in the inventory and load times are much faster. Its probably due to the hardware from a normal Xbox One or PS4 to there counterpart Pro or X versions that makes games run better. But if you speedrun on console i would also suggest getting a SSD to make your console even faster if you want reduced load times.
There is only one problem with a screenshot and that is that the moderators can't tell if the run is segmented or single segment. You can try submitting your run with the screenshot as a placeholder until you can upload the full video on RE4 Central. Here is a link for RE4 Central : http://re4central.com
Also if your not already try joining the RE4 speedrunning discord as you can talk to other runners and get help on topics like this here is the link for the discord : https://discord.gg/aP9pEnY
Im thinking of running the main story of re5 but i'm wondering how to submit my IGT if i'm on PS4 i know i can check the leaderboards for the final time but i have times that would be counted for the igt as they would be faster than my actual time in game for example my chapter 6-2 time currently on veteran is 2:21 but if i get a 2:25 in my actual full game run, will it count the 2:21 i currently have to my in game time for the run? if anyone help out it would be much appreciated.
Do you have any proof or footage of your 4:26 or 4:32 ?
If you didnt know if you skip cutscenes like the bulkheads opening then the in game timer will carry on and the door will take longer to open so its best to let the cutscenes roll out as the in game timer will be paused.
Try being in a party when you stream your runs as it adjusts the volume also check the sound setting on the PS4 itself
Finally PS4 versions have another good glitch now lol
