Races have been done yeah, there is a specific chat room on the RE discord for races(link to the discord is on the forum I believe the thread is called "Is there a discord?" or something along those lines).

For the NG+ runs, technically every run is NG runs, but you pick up unlockables like infinite ammo, albert and circular saw. Those unlockables are also the only reason to run NG+ category.

NG easy on the other hand don't use any unlockables. (same for NG Madhouse)

So if your time is slower because you don't run the fastest version it's not fair, but if Japanese runners time is affected because they do run the fastest version and we chose to penalize them for it it's fair? I don't think fairness work this way.

Also like said before the fact that you need a specific vesion of the game because it's the fastest is nothing new in the speedrunning world. Speedrunning is all about well being fast, so in order for that to be a thing you need to be prepare to have the fastest version of the game you choose to speedrun or accept the fact that you won't be in the top runners. I mean some games doesn't even separate console and pc version.

Like you said we already use similiar change for the mousewheel so I don't see why not use it for the cutscene either, it kinda serve the same purpose. Also I was planning to get back to Mass Effects runs now that I'm unemployed would make my life better than watching the same 30 minutes cutscenes every time.

I agree with letterswords. Listen to his commentary and watch some runs, that's the best way to learn the game. Just do some runs yourself and go back to other runs to watch the part where you really struggle. The game is pretty straight foreward. If you intend to run NG No DLC I did not use some glitches during Tali's mission recruitment, so I suggest you to watch tentaclepie NG+ No DLC for that part.
