Whether you stop the run yourself when you reach the objective or let the game stop it for you shouldn't really matter.
Ok it looks like everyone agrees here.. Could you accept my White water park (Aqua park) run then? :)
I don't think we should make it any different from how it is done over at the RCT2 speedrun page. Early scenario completion makes it a lot more exciting.
Well, the normal runs are also stopped as soon as the goals are reached.. You would see lots of time-wasting if the player has to wait for year X. For the RCT2 scenarios in OpenRCT2 the run is also stopped as soon as the requirement is reached.
Also, having to wait for the game to reach year X will mean that all the times that will be set will probably be really close to each other, while early scenario completion will allow you to beat the game a year faster for example if you use the right strategy, so you can set a better time.
Alright, sounds good! Can't wait to do a few of the RCT1 scenarios in OpenRCT2!
OpenRCT2 allows us to play the original RCT1 scenarios. I think it would be fun if we added them here as well. There have already been some full-game runs but currently we have nowhere to put those.
Also I think there are quite a few players who want to compete for best time in the RCT1 scenarios in OpenRCT2, me included.
I asked on speedrun.com/rct1 but it's probably better if we add them here.
OpenRCT2 allows RCT1 integration, so basically you get a new platform to play the exact same RCT1 scenarios on. Me and some other people would like to speedrun the RCT1 scenarios on OpenRCT2, but currently we have no place to do this. We could ask the guys on /rct2 to add the scenarios there, but since they're already here it's probably easier to add an OpenRCT2% category here.
Think we can make an OpenRCT2 category for every scenario, where we allow fastforwarding? OpenRCT2 can load the RCT1 scenarios as well. Same was done for all RCT2 scenarios, they now also have an OpenRCT2 category.
