I see that Time Trial categories were recently added. What is the idea of this? Only Famous' runs have been added so far, which gives the idea that he is the only one who has submitted time trial times, which is obviously not true. https://forum.re-volt.io/viewforum.php?f=22

Hello, I wonder why there are no different categories or at least variables for the difficulty setting? :)

I found something, but haven't worked it out yet.

(Referring to the GBA version as always) Hello, in the final stage of the Rowena fight, she first sends a magic puff, then after hitting it three useless things, then another magic puff, then after hitting that Brutus, and after that it seems random. Sometimes there's a magic puff right away, sometimes there's a teapot first and then a magic puff, and in my current PB I had to wait almost 20 seconds until finally she blew the puff for the final blow. Does anyone know if there's a way to make this very end of the game consistent?

Hello, could individual levels be added? I'd like to run level 6, as it's the most challenging and flexible.

Alright, I'm done frustrating myself. How do you record Lemmings? Recording windowed Lemmings is fine; is that what you do also? Playing Lemmings full-screen seems easier, but I can't find a way to record the entire screen without recording big black bars around it.

I had written a thread on this before, but scrapped it, because I wasn't sure anymore if the amount of cycles actually made any difference, as long as you aren't lowering it so much the Lemmings don't walk as fast anymore, or make it so high the game starts to behave strangely. However, I want to make sure: what setting do you use?

Hello, as described here:
I guess I might as well reuse this topic, as the title is relevant: are the lem-fix executables allowed? There's lem-fix1, lem-fix2 and lem-fix3. The only thing they change is the music. If the patches are allowed they could be added to the Resources, perhaps.

Not sure what they are; are they only relevant to the Windows 95 version of the game?

I mean, if they literally do nothing but change the music. I don't really see why that would be a problem.

Oh, I'm sorry, they're for the MS-DOS version. It normally plays the first track whenever you fail a level or restart the game. The lem-fix executables change this odd behaviour.
It would be nice if the executables were added to the resources, then, I think, as I don't think they're available online too easily. You can get them here: https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1341.0;attach=1182 But that might only be available to members of Lemmings Forums. NCH is on Lemmings Forums, though, so he could download the zip and add it to Resources. :)

So, if you've run this game on Atari ST or MS-DOS (I'm not sure if it's the case on Amiga as well), you'll probably have noticed that sometimes when you press fire or space bar, it doesn't register, or it is buffered and carried out later. While running the DOS version today, I noticed that if I restarted the game entirely instead of resuming from the title screen, it seemed to work every time. However, later on, the opposite was true, and only the second play would work as it should. I am in the dark about how this works... it would be nice if there was a way to get it consistent every time, as now a big portion of the runs ends before the first split, as you'll fail to pick up one of the items in the cave, fail to open the menu at the door, or fail to pick up the cherry. At least, if you don't fail any of those things, it seems like the rest of the game will be fairly consistent as well.
Regarding ESC feature, the only reason I'm really disallowing it at the moment, is because the only person outside myself to do an RTA attempt did so explicitly banning the feature, and because it isn't entirely clear to me yet which ports have some sort of ESC feature to utilize (like GB, SNES, or what have ya). I can see the pros and cons for allowing for both.
Well, if you don't use it now, you'll have two runs not using it, and it'll only make it have more of an impact if you change it later. I'd suggest switching over right away. If there's no reason to ban it, don't ban it. :) Ports don't matter, as they are separated anyway. Just remove the rule, and it can be used in whatever versions it is present. :)

Hey, not everything seems to be organised too well here, at the moment. (this is just an observation, not an accusation! :P) Perhaps it'd help if one or more new mods were added, and/or the current mods would join the Discord community. :) https://re-volt.io/discord

To me, the background of this theme is way too crazy. It's quite distracting, and also becomes tiring, when being at the page for around a minute. Could it be changed? :P

You can see how much someone donated by hovering over their icon. Has this always been the case and did I just not notice it before, or is it new?

Hey. The rules are obvious to understand as they are now, especially when you check other runs. However, it is not specified that you should start from a fresh save file. I think it should be. Someone might record a run with all cars unlocked right from the start. As it is now, that isn't against the rules of 'All cups' or '100%'. In Stunt Arena, it is actually allowed, of course.

Utrecht, Netherlands6076 years ago

Why is Arcade required for All Cups? I'd think you could use any difficulty. Arcade is probably the fastest, in most circumstances, but some people might want to play on Simulation or even Console as well.

Hey, is it possible to record BizHawk with Fraps? I put the display mode to OpenGL, but it still didn't get picked up, it seemed. I ended up using the BizHawk function to record avi for this project, but it ended up looking blurry.

Utrecht, Netherlands6076 years ago

I was submitting a run, and couldn't select PAL... what's that about?

Utrecht, Netherlands6076 years ago

Hello! To record gameplay footage for future piano covers, I'd like a completed save file for this game. I've got one myself on my cartridge, but I can only record my emulator. :) Does anyone have one?

Hello! I see many games have IL leaderboards, but quite some of them are almost, or completely, empty. Something I've been wondering: should times submitted to the IL leaderboard include that level only, or can IL records be part of full runs, or even failed runs that had some really good splits earlier on?

Another question: is it possible to restrict IL categories from specific levels?
