Welcome to the Desolate Hope speedrunning community!

The Desolate Hope, developed by Scott Cawthon, and released in 2012 and made freeware in 2014 is a game of many genres; platformer, top-down shooter, RPG...whatever you call it, it's a fun experience, and perhaps a good speedgame.

The speedrun only has one category at the moment: Any%, on either the Normal difficulty or the Hot Coffee difficulty. The Hot Coffee difficulty can be accessed by tapping the left key before making a new file. 100% (or the equivalent completion percent) may be a potential category in the future, but with the game's mysterious way of calculating completion percentage, this has yet to be determined.
The run ends once the final dialogue after the final boss is gone through.

A decompilation of the game is available below. If you wish to prod into the game's inner-workings, this will prove incredibly useful.

The game is in need of documentation, such as vendor locations and subarea maps, among any other important information for speedrunning. If resources are made available, I will be happy to put them in a public space.

For now, use the Discord server posted in this forum for any of your running needs. I'll also be able to respond to any personal inquiries.

Happy running!
