Hello im suggesting a new category called Rash mode. The goal is the fastest runner to knock off 20 other riders , including cops. Certain rules could be that you must qualify for the knock downs to count. As getting busted or wrecked would result in a reset, Or finishing forth or worse. Since the idea in the game is to qualify ,fighting is also a big part of the game. And seeing as you won't get twenty knock downs In 1, 2 or probably 3 races, hence why the runner must qualify. As an example let's say someone has completed and qualified three races and has eighteen knockdowns soon as they reach twenty on the fourth race the clock stops. So the time of your races would be unnecessary . So for timing you would be using real time ,from pressing start at the title screen for your 1st race to your twentieth knock down. Any tracks can be selcted 1st. Doesnt have to Alaska, But after you complete your 1st race to save time you would most likely just select the next track to save time so I'm saying if you wanted to play Vermont 1st you could but then you would certainly button mash right after that race and the game would select Alaska immediately. You could still select any track you want, But you would obviously lose time from that point. So the starting point would be the moment you press start to the twentieth knock down.
I like the idea of this thread, exploring one of the main features of the game (and funniest) in a speedrunning category.
Let's put out there that whatever this category will be, it's very probably be played in level 1 only...
I dont like too much the part of ignoring races/qualifyings because it will end in some kind of boring exploit of knock-outs in one race or a couple, and thats it...
What about the fastest way to beat a full level with at least 20 total beatings and 3 beatings minimum per qualified race? That would allow some strategy about where to put 5 extra knock outs...
Also, in this same theme, and recalling memories from playing it as a pre-internet young with extra time, I thought another good category to add would be a "lawless%" or "reckless%", beating a full level with at least 1 cop beat up in each qualified race...
I thought about this when I speedrunned some levels but at the end didn't put hands to work for it and moved to other mega drive games... If someone likes the idea, go for it, I don't discard going for it in the future.
I just want a rash mode. Could even be 1st to 30 or 35 knock offs to ensure you beat all 5 tracks in level 1 . And yes this should be for level 1 only. Tho I still think u should have to Finnish 3rd or bettter
One of the best ways to figure it all out is for runners who are interested test it out. The main reason I think a person needs to qualify the race for to count is. I wouldn't want to see people just drive slowly and knock off like 10 to15 people in one race and finish like 8th or worse or something.
Because then I think it would require strategy and some discipline to finish third or better well knocking off 4567o reight people in one race. So realistically to reach 25 knock off as an example if 6 were a good amount of knock offs in one race while still finishing 3rd that would take. Four and a half races. Which is why perhaps thirty or thirty five knockouts should be the goal
Seems right, so in a nutshell a Rash% would be: fastest time in beating a level with 30 knock-outs through it, with any bike belonging to that level, with at least a 5 knock-outs per qualified race...

30 seems a good number... I have not played it recently but putting more knock outs will be starting the category too tight for being something new... also giving freedom of bike (within the ones of the level), whenever this is started, the category can be added easily to all levels...
Doesn't have to be 5 pre races. If someone got 4 and qualified it be fine to move to the next race.
Also if a person qualifies all 5 races and level one and only has say 26 knockouts then the clock still goes and they move on to Level two and try to get thirty in the next race
This sounds like a really fun idea :) The 20 knock downs with a minimum of 3 per race AND having to qualify sounds really doable but also not easy to get the whole amount.
As long as kicking/barging someone in to a car/street furniture counts as a knockdown then there's going to be a lot of entertaining videos !
I'll try to do some runs over the next couple of days as a test but I like the idea and the strategy needed for it
Any knockdown counts but only kicking ppl off there bike if you are able to witness the knocked off otherwise it won't count. Also I think 30 is a better number as that could be 3 4 5 or even 6 races to complete. 20 and 25 seem to short
I just did some testing and 25 seems like the perfect amount of knock offs. 20 isnt enough and 30 is to much. Also knocking other bikers into cars or signs counts but must be visible in the rear view mirror or on the main screen to count.( must be seen clealy enough to count as a knock off) which is rather easy to notice. I knocked a rider into a car and u could clearly see him flipping off his bike in the mirror. But 100% I feel 25 knock offs while qualify is the best way to do this. Time starts at pressing start at the title screen and stops on 25th knock off. Let's make this happen! Also a wild thing category with 20 knock offs could be great as well
Personally I would love to see an entire game speedrun with no codes, like from scratch until either you buy the best bike or you finish the whole game. From what I have seen you gotta get lucky to clear some course in level 5 and even level 4
That's super boring to me. And would take forever. Like it would be easy to add. But very very few people would want to run the whole game. Cause doing it legit requires alot of luck in level 4 and 5. And the best way is to far money on level 1 and 2 but that would mean not advancing on purpose many many times to rack up money to get the best bike and then Breese though levels 2 3 and 4 and 5 will still be hard af even 4 will still be hard. So I really have no interest in a full game category. I started this thread to suggest a rash mode
I suck at it lol how'd you keep track of how many knockdowns you were at ? It's a good category and 25 knockdowns with qualifying seemed the right amount. There's a few of different ways to do it to keep it interesting. I reckon a minimum amount of knockdowns per race (3 ?) would be good - forces people to fight each level and not just rush through to get a faster bike.

And for knocking in to cars, it's usually pretty obvious to see when it's done on purpose and when you were just riding next to them when they crashed so shouldn't be too difficult to moderate
I don't think there should be a minimum cause I've had 8 knocks down 1 race and 2 rhe next. So as long they reach 25 and quality there should be not minimum
And I just count. I punch one off club 1 off. I just count as I knock em off
This sounds like a fun mode! I personally think the most challenging level to do This on would be level 4.
Level 4 is the most aggressive racers and everyone is out to get you lol
Lvl 5 is actually easier because racers leave you alone and don’t use weapons really
Just FYI I've updated the main icon, SRC logo and 4th place icon to make it look even more appealing. Hopefully you guys like it, if not, you can always revert back to what it was.
