About current PS1 WR
I was watching the 1:05:14 Resident Evil 3 (PS1) run and was really impressed, especially since it follows basically the same route as other ~1:06 runs.
I’d love to understand what specific optimizations or strategies was used to save those extra 1 minute and 43 seconds. For example:
- Any specific positioning against Nemesis?
- Differences in item or inventory management?
- Micro-routes or puzzle manipulations that helped save time?
- Techniques dependent on version or PS1 glitches?
Thanks a lot if you can share any tips or insights!
- Strategies against Nemesis are the same as in the Any% PC version
- There are no differences between the PC version and the PS1 version
- Manipulating puzzles is banned. We act based on the randomness provided by the game
- Speedrunners and I try to choose emulators that run quickly and don't break the game. For example, DuckStation or psxfin 1.13. Any glitches used in emulators will result in a run rejection

Thanks! Yeah i've noticed by comparing side-by-side with other runs that DuckStation in fact has faster camera and door transitions. Along an entire run it should save a lot of total time.
