This was my first finished run where I skipped taking Eevee starter and went straight to Teddiursa and Growlithe. This saved a lot of level-up text during the mission splits, and also saved the time spent adding Growlithe to the team, as well as removing Eevee from the team. However, this proved quite risky as I nearly lost the run to not getting a Rock/Ground/Steel recruit. I was saved fairly last-minute by a Bronzor recruit after failing many other recruit opportunities. Despite the risk, I think this is a sensible approach for PB attempts. Teddiursa and Growlithe fared surprisingly well on their own, albeit fully reliant on Growlithe getting a buff from Cheerleader.
