I FINALLY DID IT! 10 days of work.. but it's finally over. Any% world record one more time.
It was a lot to get this. Countless runs on pace that died to toughness of Nights, 10-5 being a reoccurring run killer. I only actually PB'd twice throughout this journey, a 56:15 (putting me in 3rd) and a 54:59, which you'll notice is the exact same time as the WR this beats. I could have accepted that 54:59, but I really wanted to have my hard work captured so I needed to beat the WR, even by just 1 second. That run could have been the one too since it bounced for 8 seconds on one of my last shots of the final level. But I was trapped for more days until it happened. I also played out a handful of runs that either died on a level or just were a bit off the speed I needed, that seemed to all hit 57:xx, showing I was quite consistent.
Throughout this journey, I got much better at master stages, knowing I had to cut time on them. I made my splits master splits as the times on those mattered more than individual levels. I was getting some ridiculous times, like a 3:20 on Cinder, sub-4s on Splork, Tula, Warren and Marina, and being consistent at getting sub-5 on Renfield and Kat, the splits that make this grind so much worse. Even during this WR, I have an abnormally bad Kat split but kept the run going through determination, and it paid off.
There's not a doubt in my mind that this will be beaten by WhaleEleven and/or Jnano once they try for it, they are incredible runners and I've seen how low this run can potentially go with the stars aligning. I'd love to be able to hold this WR for a bit though, just to be able to look at what my hard work and determination could achieve, but I'm glad that at least one more time I could prove to myself what I am capable of.
Peggle.
