New Super Mario Bros. Wii – 99 Lives World Record & Retirement Statement

Today marks the end of a long journey. With this run, I’ve officially achieved the 99 Lives World Record in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and I’m choosing this as the point to retire from the game.

This wasn’t just about chasing a number on a screen. It was about dedication, persistence, and countless hours of practice. There were times I thought I’d never make it, moments where resets piled up and frustration almost won. But through it all, I kept pushing—not just because I wanted the record, but because I truly loved this game.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii has been a part of my life for years. It’s the game that taught me patience, the game that connected me with an incredible community, and the game that gave me goals to work toward when I needed something to focus on. Every world, every trick, every 1-Up I collected became part of a much larger story, one that I’ll always carry with me.

Retiring now isn’t about walking away out of frustration—it’s about leaving at the right moment, after accomplishing something meaningful. Getting this record feels like closing a chapter the way I always hoped I could.

To the community: thank you. For the support, for the laughs, for the rivalry, and for pushing me further than I thought possible. I wouldn’t have gotten here without you.

This is my last speedrun for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, and I’m ready to step back knowing I gave everything I had to this game.
