Good morning, afternoon, or evening. I've been practicing the Any% speedrun for New Super Mario Bros. 2 a lot, and I'm very eager to submit my time to the official leaderboards here.
However, after reading your rules, I noticed that emulators are strictly prohibited. I currently play on Citra MMJ (Mobile), which occasionally has FPS drops, though it's not frequent.
I wanted to ask: Will emulators always be banned? Or is there any chance they might be allowed in the future? I would personally love to be on the leaderboards, but the emulator restriction is the main issue.
I look forward to your response. Have a great day!
Unfortunately, they will not be allowed now or in the long term. 3DS emulators are very inaccurate in terms of loading times and lag. Loading times vary depending on the hardware, at least for Citra PabloMK7, Lime3DS and Azahar, older versions of Citra are probably the same, BizHawk has faster loads but the loading times are the same for all people, it is unlikely that they will be added, the only thing left for you to do is to buy a console (best to buy a New 2DS XL because of the loads) and a cartridge with the game.
I'm sure many have heard the news that Twitch is cracking down on users that have more than 100 hours of uploaded content on Twitch. This affects plenty of speedrunners who might have used Twitch for submissions or simply to store runs. If this change actually comes into effect (April 19th is judgme
