So with this temporary event, will the afrosword be banned for use in speedrunning?

Personally I would say yes it falls under the description of what I would consider to be DLC and thus not allowed in a run. (Also as it's only a temporarily available thing, runs done after it is unavailable would be at a significant disadvantage.)
