According to one of the mods, FE2 Map Test (now named Community Maps) can't be used in speedruns due to "slight differences". Personally, I enjoy speedrunning in map test a lot more due to the ease of it (no diamonds needed, etc) and would love to see a "sub-category" allowing you to submit map test runs.
Thanks for the suggestion. In fact, a few days ago I had brought up to a fellow mod about letting Poisonous Chasim in community maps, due to the creator of the map telling me there was little to no difference from the in game version. However, the problem arouse when there was 2 issues - these maps can be changed or edited at anytime, without warning. They can be nerfed, buffed, or just completely replaced with any map.
2nd, people can use things to cheat. There are some maps in maptest that will give you certain advantages if you look for them. Thus, they can just go to a map that gives them that advantage, then go to the said map that's on the board and attempt a WR.
These things are bad, even with a sub-category for it.
We'll continue to look into it and see what we can do.
With the Practice Mode update in the works, the leaderboards have been updated to display all the permanent maps in maingame (sorry it took 3 years). Do note that most of these maps are CM additions, meaning that they are permanent but can be removed at any time upon the map creator's request.
