On a Reddit thread, some say there are 193 pictos actually available, but 216 in the game files, and that these have been removed. However, I have seen runs with some of these non-present pictos equipped.
My question is: Are these runs valid? If so, in which category? I think this drastically changes the chances of damage in the runs, and some people share saves with these pictos present. I have seen runs with the "Soul Eater" picto, for example, which inflicts 30% additional damage but loses 20% health per turn.
These pictos can be easily spotted as they trigger at the beginning of the battle in the list that scrolls to the right above the characters.
Maybe I just haven't found a way to get them yet and they are actually available. What do you think?
Yeah, I came across this as well. Thought it was strange, then I saw the rules here with a list of unallowed pictos/lumina and that confirmed something is up. I can't find anything out in the open web about it all though.
The pictos that are listed are from what was investigated are disabled and not naturally found in the game. So its reasonable to think they were early versions of pictos that were early versions of some of the existing ones that are found in the game and or some that were used based on what they appear to do for testing purposes which are likely not balanced at all for the regular play experience hence why they are not allowed.
The mod that allowed for (easy) access to the listed pictos got taken down AFAIK, so it's no longer publicly available.
However, that doesn't mean that a similar mod might not be made again or that there are still people out there that have access to the (old) mod and are using it, hence why the rule is (still) in effect.
Hi. I'm not a speedrunner of this game (yet ?) But I've been looking around to understand the rules, categories, etc... When I came across the Picto/Lumina forbidden list, I did not understand. I'm finishing my very first discovery run of the game and I've got some picto on the list. I mean, I did not cheat or abuse anything. Just played a completionist run to enjoy (Still got Simon and Last boss to kill, And I probably miss some picto aswell).
Anyway, -> Quoting MASH "The pictos that are listed are from what was investigated are disabled and not naturally found in the game".
So How did I got those ? (Its in French Coz I am but yo ucan clearly see "Anti-corruption" witch is "Anti curse" and "Anti-étourdissment" witch is "Anti Dizzy".)
If anyone got an anwser, I'm curious.
Thanks

You get the Anti-Dizzy by killing the Chromatic Pétank at "Flotting casino" (Dunno the name of ti in english) and the Anti-corruption at the merc on Alicia's tower. The one when you got the ballon platform. I don't actualy remember, I just looked up online. It seems fair to me since I've done all this.
Chormatic Petank drops Anti-Stun not Anti-Dizzy and Eragol sells Anti-Blight not Anti-Corruption. This maybe an example then of translation differences
Ok I see. In French "Corrumption" apply a debuff that lower your max HP then you got "Malédiction" that kills you after few round.
Is French "Corruption" is"Blight" in the english Version ?
