the timer over the game is an add-on/insert. it doesn't affect the code in any way, it's just additional. it's pretty accurate, and if someone's game lags sometimes, it won't affect their time negatively. it's technically more accurate than RTA for that, at least. it does start a bit later than RTA, that's why there is roughly a 1 second discrepancy
