Alexander was an RTS game released alongside the historically bad movie back in 2004. It was unfairly panned by critics at release, but it's actually really good! I first heard about it on XPlay when they gave it a 2/5 and one of the voice lines was funny enough to cause me to go buy it from my local GameStop. It's art style is still vivid and crisp even in 2026, mainly because of how good the sprites in the game are. Handles and plays a lot like Age of Empires original.

Not only that but it has 4 separate campaigns, with voice acted events during missions. I encountered a problem mid-way through one of the campaigns that made me get open the Map Editor and actually fix the campaign, so I figured I would set up a fan-site for the game to see if the ashes could be revived: https://alexanderthegame.com
