Timing of Ronnie Weston's 500 score PB

I just submitted a 500 score speedrun, and so I checked out Ronnie Weston's PB which is listed at 2:27. But when I watched the video I noticed two things:

  1. the video starts after the first 2 hops
  2. the 500 score appears onscreen at ~2:32

Can a mod look into retiming this run? https://www.speedrun.com/Crossy_Road/run/yj4lle7y

Madrid, Spain

1.the video starts after the first 2 hops but he die at 10 2.if you retime from the first hop to the 500 it still be 2:27*

Thanks @RonnieWeston ! But after all this time I still can't get close to your high score PB, the true "top spot" in my eyes.

I think it has to do with my playstyle. I like to play using a lot of lateral motion and quick, flashy movement, whereas your movement seems very efficient and mostly vertical (kind of like the arcade version). My playstyle is conducive to speedrunning, but requires a high level of execution that makes it hard to reach a score over 1000 most of the time. I could play slower and more conservatively, but at some point, I find it hard to justify lessening my enjoyment of the game for a better shot at the high score.

I agree. The problem with scoring high is actually boredom and mind drifting off.

I rarely score over 1500 and if I do it’s tedious . I prefer to play fast and thus blow it for rushing.

Keep going I’m sure you can crack 2k

Thanks. I know I have the skill to get a score over 2000, but it's really hard to maintain focus that long, and after messing up a few times, I tend to put pressure on myself. Actually, my most recent 500 score speedrun PB occurred after I realized I was trying too hard and relaxed. I didn't even notice when I passed 500.

Well done friend for cracking the 2k, I feel for you not quite cracking the score - I’m sure you will and I’ll have to up my game and dust down once more

You should sub your score to TG too? As you know I score for charity causes, so exposure of our tussle helps hits in the long run?

Good job www.ronnieweston.com

Thanks, Ronnie! I was looking into submitting to TG, but they must've added a new rule since I last submitted there, which requires me to have 3 "submission points." So I voted yes on a bunch of runs awaiting verification and am waiting until I get enough submission points to submit to the Crossy Road leaderboard.

Another question, how do you get a Guinness World Record for this game? When do they check the leaderboards to decide who gets the record?

Essex, England

They check every march I believe. I was in last years book, but alas they switch around articles each year and I wasn’t in it this year even though I had the record .

If you beat my score I’ll help you get your certificate, it’s mainly by the Guinness website and Twitter. It takes ages

Ps., it dusted off my iPad Pro in case you beat it ..... I hope you don’t as I value my marriage!
