Improvements for the community

Hey guys, I've got some suggestions that could improve this site and wanted to know what you think about it.

  1. Instead of having a seperate category for each difficulty, let's just make the main category Any% with subcategories for all difficulties.

Any% (Category)

  • Cakewalk
  • Rust'Em Up
  • Survivor
  • No Mercy
  1. At the moment the rule, about when time starts, is not what me and Sympy do in our runs. The rules says "Timer starts after save file location is chosen.", but we start the timer when the first cutscene is skipped. Which way of timing should we use?

  2. Same as the first suggestion, but this time with the Level Leaderboard. Also, the rules for the Level Leaderboard are duplicated and should be fixed.

  1. for the names, why any%, why do like all the other games? there is not really a 100% option for this game in terms of collectables or some sort of that. it just instantly shows you the difficulty the game is played with beating it ASAP. So unless you can come up with a 100% run, i don't really see why should be called Any%.

  2. At the time that i created the page, over a year ago, i did not really know of any other BD runners. So i just put the rules onto how i saw it myself to be the most convenient way to start a run i guess.

  3. Added the other difficulties.

If we're not planning on changing the rules in terms of when time starts, meaning we keep it the same way when, then we need to make sure all runs are timed fair.

For example Ico and Sympy starts time when they press to skip the first cutscene, which means they are about 6 seconds (depends how fast or slow you are skipping it) and is not fair for those who doesn't do that, especially when that is what the rules state.

So if we don't change the rules atleast adjust peoples times to reflect a fair comparision between all the runs. For as it stands my time is 2:37:51, and if I would do the same timing method as Sympy and Ico, then I would be around 2:37:45 which does make a difference. I don't really care which method we use, as long as all people's runs are equally timed.

Otherwise I understand with the names and that's reasonable. Also, the Level Leaderboard still has duplicated rules, please fix that.

Personally for me it's always easier to hit the start button when i go into the game, rather than waiting for the cutscenes to be skipped, but that's just me, it's just what i prefer though. If there is a preference to do it after the cutscene skips, then i will adjust it.

And for the duplicated rules, i had no idea what was duped, but then i saw where the mistake was, i hope it got fixed now.

I personally don't really care which way is used and it doesn't really matter unless two seperate runs are close enough where 5-6 seconds might determine who is the faster, in that case it might be worth switching to a specific way of timing for all runners. As for now it doesn't really affect that much because everyone are several minutes away from eachother anyways so untill runs are close to eachother it is fine for now.

And yeah, the duplicated rules is now fixed.
