Notes and why I chose to run this:

My brother and I were talking about the worst games from our childhoods and this entered the discussion. I was curious what the fastest time was and, at that point, only a single run had been submitted at 7.5 hrs. I figured there must be a way to do it faster, so we watched the TAS and then started taking notes on a route.

This is the result of about 2 weeks of effort and I was surprised to see how quickly I saw obvious improvement. Our route is built around the flagrant use of continues to refuel and grab keys because I didn't think I would be able to overcome how challenging it is to play this. However, this run (my first time ever actually finishing the game) is 3 hrs faster than my previous attempt. I am confident there are sections where the notes could be refined to speed up the process of going back and forth through time just to carry keys around now that I have some degree of skill in dealing with the mini games.

Obviously things bog down fast once I hit Part III, primarily because it was my second time even trying that section and I had to pull up my previous video to remind myself how to get through those puzzles. That Rush for the Gold game at the end left me physically exhausted. I'm sure that if I made another attempt, it'd be about 30 minutes faster.
