So I clipped out of bounds... (Slums 2)

Just accidentally clipped out of The Slums 2. From the very start, first corridor blast, dash right through the wall behind the gun. I have played quite a lot of this level and this have never happened so pretty damn lucky. Sadly I didn't capitalized on it for beating the level but if you can dash straight to the end right after that would mean a final time of less than 3 seconds. :o 00:00:00 start 00:00:40-43 against the wall 00:00:43-47 through the wall Here's a slow down clip:

Woah, interesting! I might have to try it myself later. I honestly haven't tried to mess around with trying to get OoB since discovering those in sewer town but this gives me hope that there's other useful clips out there.

This one is very dumb but yeah there might be a more reliable setup than just "oh well i was holding kick at the start and it just worked" lol

Hopefully, also the layout makes it seems like that clip might not be too useful, considering you can only fall for about 2 seconds before dying in OoB. I've just been busy so I haven't gotten around to experimenting again.

If i'm not mistaking the end is right next to the start, so you might 180 dash and barely make it. Good thing is, i have a loooooot of free time so i'll look into it between some runs!!

That's great to hear, I look forward to any possible discoveries you may make, the weekends are where most of my freetime is so I might do some searching too

Guess what happened on accident earlier when playing, found another clip in slums lv.2

Just spent like 10 minutes trying to replicate your one dylen and couldn't manage it. If we could narrow down what caused it/how to do it that could be really cool.

I just spent about 10 minutes trying to figure it out but to no avail. I'm thinking it had something to do with how I hit the door but I'm not really sure, this clip might not be useful considering how close the end of the level is but if we figure out how this one works it might help figure out how to do clips on other levels as well, which would be awesome!

The only thing i could concrete discern from your videos is it seems to have nothing to do with hitting any enemies. because we dont hear the pistol guy crumple here. I think maybe it's from hitting the corner of the speaker prop? thats my best guess at the moment but i'll give a few more tries later.

from what i've seen it looks like you just clip into the wall and die to suffocation, may be wrong. nonetheless exploring more oob options will definitely help cut down IL's and full runs if consistency is gained, keep up the exploration :D

I agree, like with the clip in sewer town lv.3, did it on accident and then we figured what made that one tick and now full runs are easily 30 seconds less now, when I first started playing this game I wouldn't have thought that OoB was possible.

definitely agree, especially coming from v.06 and thinking there's no possibility of oob to seeing v.08 release and these crazy strats be found, it's so cool to see what everyone is coming up with

I'm glad to see the game becoming more optimized, it's super cool I agree!

@Patatoes

I apologize, I can't verify those plain tekkies IL runs with your full game video, if you could trim those I'd love to verify them but I can't have your full game run in every IL, sorry for the inconvenience, I hope you get those trimmed and sent my way soon.

I am back in this thread because I have found yet another Slums 2 clip , AND THIS TIME it's (kinda) consistent and may actually be possible to skip half the level !!!

At the moment I am still trying to touch the end level trigger, it is very precise, and I don't even know if it's possible , maybe it doesn't work like the Sewer 3 end trigger, I'll keep grinding

Well... I've done it... I think the angle is perfect...

But no end level trigger :( Maybe sewer levels end trigger are unique and you can't do these OoB skips in levels with stairs, which is a sad but useful discovery Unlucky I really wanted to finally have found a usable Oob for speedruning

Well I think stair endings have always been height dependent because if you look at Narcotomi level 3 the optimisation for that mostly came from finding the right time to jump to tag the end trigger quicker. It's nice to have more proof but I don't think hitting stair trigger from under was ever gonna be doable without some kind of huge oversight from the dev.
