I think the IL category system may need to be changed. As it stands, the categories are Any%, 1 Gem, 2 Gems, and All Gems. First of all, I don't see a reason to have 1 Gem and 2 Gem categories. Why are they there? Secondly, there may be other categories worth adding. Off the top of my head, a category for completing the Bonus Objective for each level and a category for catching Pixel Toad could be added. 100% (All Gems + Bonus Objective) could be added, too, although some levels would require the level to be run twice due to the Bonus Objective making collecting all 3 Gems impossible (i.e. Touchstone Trouble).
What do the mods think? Are these good suggestions?
Another new strat I came up with that might be able to be improved.
-Run onto the spring, ignoring the first target. -Time (or spam) neutral-B so it breaks the target on the glass. -Hit the top target. -Hit the left target. -Use a down-B near the target under the glass. This will take care of that target, the one between the platforms, and the one which was skipped earlier. -Hit the target under the spring. -Land on the left platform and hit the lower left target with a d-tilt. -Hit the upper left platform. -Hit the middle platform.
Someone else might be able to optimize this better than I did, so here's the strat: -Hit the first target. -Immediately after landing, push the grab button so that Samus' zair hits the target between the 2 walls. (This is the main difference in the run, and I think it's a pretty substantial time saver. Replaces a laggy d-tilt with a move that I'm not even sure affects the movement speed.) -Hit the top target. -Hit the left target. -Hit the two right targets with a fast-fall nair and land on the platform below. -Run off the platform. -Jump. -Hit the middle target with either a nair or an up-air. -Hit the upper left target with an up-air and land on the platform. -Hit the lower left target with a d-tilt (d-smash will hit too, but I think it's a bit slower) and jump off the platform (careful with the timing, there's more lag than you'd think and touching the bumper will destroy your run). -Hit the middle target with a dair.
I put up a list on the official forum ( http://forums.mcleodgaming.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=39284&start=150 ) so we can know easily when a record is broken.

I'll update it whenever a record is broken here or there.
I've been thinking about doing a 1P asynchronous category (Fireboy and Watergirl cannot move at the same time). This makes it possible for people with less coordination to submit a competitive run, and makes for a harder challenge. Before I added the category, I wanted to see the community's thoughts on the topic.
I have now added the third game in the series. More coming soon. Additionally, I have created level leaderboards for both 2 & 3 (1 does not have numbered levels).
EDIT: On the official website (or the next best thing, http://www.fireboynwatergirl.com/ ) The Ice Temple is labeled as game 4. The game has been updated to reflect that, with The Forest Temple Again added as game 3.
For the levels that are on here, it is sometimes unclear which level is which. Could you please rename them to their in-game names? (Waddlewing Warning, Crooked Cavern, etc.)
A topic to help others find good strategies for the various Target Smash stages.
My typical route for Stage 1: Stage 2: Stage 3 really varies depending on the character.
Some character specifics: Sora on Stage 1: I start with his down special which takes out the targets labeled 1 and 2. (Got me my PB.) Pikachu on Stage 2: I use the neutral special at the targets 1 and 3, while hitting #2 with a physical attack. (How I managed to get sub-20.)
If someone else wants to help, I would like tips for Fox, Chibi-Robo, and Black Mage. Maybe not bad characters, but I have issues making them work for Target Smash.
Okay, I requested a game called Full Screen Mario, which is an HTML5 fan remake of Super Mario Bros., but was rejected because it was too similar. Could it be accepted as an emulator or added as a category?
One of the moderators on here is inactive. (Offline for 3 months.) I haven't run this game (yet), but I have played it a lot and would be more than happy to be a mod if necessary.
You should probably add a 100% category. (Collect all diamonds.) It might also be a good idea to have single level leaderboards.
On the Level Leaderboard, there are five Target Smash stages. Where did the last two come from?
I would love to run this game, but I don't often do long runs (like 32 tracks or even just 16 as Nitro or Retro). If this game had Single Level Time Trials or Single Level Cup runs, I would happily run some of those.
