Nice; we used to be able to see every IL on one really neat grid, and now it's on 4 pages with even more blank spaces where runners didn't submit for 2nd/3rd.

There was also a drive to fill in any blank spaces on the grid before, but now nobody cares, because it's all screwed up.

So... It looks like they put a new 72px resolution restriction on uploads. I managed to make it work by making sure none of the dimensions were over 72px. That restriction wasn't in place before, but at least it works now.

I have actually tried both GIF and APNG in many varying sizes. They all result in the same thing. I'm guessing they've changed the system to re-process your uploads with tight restrictions before applying them, preventing GIFs from functioning.

😒 How it was VS how it is: https://i.imgur.com/13Pkke1.gif

Update: There's a 72px resolution restriction on uploads that was not there before. (Going over this re-processes the image)

[small]Slightly unrelated note, but seeing as the donator badge has been officially labeled as "SRC Supporter", I just want to take this opportunity to state how strange I find it that most people call it "SRC" instead of "SRDC", because nobody ever refers to websites as things like "Speedrun Com"; they always say "Speedrun Dot Com". For whatever reason, this small, pedantic thing bothers me. When I see "SRC", I hear "Speedrun Com", and it just sounds so wrong. Anyway, I digress. Say what you want lol[/small]

I shouldn't have deleted the 12:12 submission or my 12:30 recording. Oh well.

A good example for something that is likely unintended, yet is definitely not a glitch would be infinite bomb-jumping to pass the pressure plate door to obtain Flash Shift.

We already know with the slow speed booster glitch that these types of flags can carry over to parts of the game they weren't intended to. It's very similar. There's a couple scenarios in the game where the fire rate of missiles do get adjusted, like after certain upgrades or during certain parry sequences. The aforementioned coupled with the fact there's multiple different recordings of the exact same "glitch" make this quite likely to be a real thing—we just don't know how to replicate it yet.

Redid a bunch of tests on 1.0.0 & 1.0.1 on both latest Ryujinx & Yuzu EA. The only corrections I'll make are the inconsistent times on the intro cutscene, and potentially remaining cutscene time over/undershooting, because both of these emulators have IGT pacing issues during the intro cutscene especially, and minor pacing issues in other cutscenes. Basically the IGT will randomly slow down for a moment, then go back to normal. It appears steady during normal gameplay. To summarize, skipping a cutscene VS watching it may result in the same time on consoles. I can't confirm this without a hacked console. That's pretty much it. The rest I posted here and on the server is still true. I'll edit out misleading info and add more clarifications.

What makes you say it's false? I streamed tons of IGT tests with a live IGT value displayed.

^Bug with emulator IGT pacing during cutscenes. It also rolls back on deaths/reloads, or pauses when there's any menus up. See more IGT info on the Discord server. (direct message link)

The data on that spreadsheet was extracted from the game binaries, which is why the names are changed, and it doesn't match every situation in the game where damage reductions are common and vary a lot. A vast majority of it is correct, but there's mismatches here and there and it's not going to have everything. It also says charge is 3x damage, but it did 4x in a few of my tests. It hasn't been updated since launch and probably won't be since that's simply what was available in the game binaries. It'll help get an idea for where base values were placed internally, but any significant test basically needs to be done manually while monitoring live HP values, because it could be a situation like Raven Beak where it reduces damage in like 10 different ways depending on what you're using in which situation.

At that point, Storm Missiles deal 150 damage per mini-missile/ammo (x3 per target for 450), while the standard Ice Missile deals 400 damage each shot. Storm Missiles are not worth using on Raven Beak.

I don't think anybody expects you to merge them into the same category, but a separate category for emulation makes a lot of sense and would be greatly appreciated considering how well it's emulated right off the bat, and how preferable the emulated experience is for many people. Emulation through Ryujinx is at least 99.9% perfect (they seem to care more about accuracy btw), and Yuzu's almost there as well, if it isn't already. They both get regular updates, especially addressing popular titles like this. I personally only play through Ryujinx. Some people don't own a Switch, but still purchase the games to legally emulate them for a favorable experience. Even some people who own a Switch still prefer emulation for Dread, because the high resolution & 144 FPS is particularly gorgeous here, including better load times, more accessibility, etc.. I've done quite a lot of testing so far and haven't noticed any differences between Ryujinx and console besides load times, and , apart from one tiny spot where it gets you insta-killed during the EMMI sliding tutorial, but you can simpily press Tab to toggle back to 60 and avoid this, and I believe that EMMI is skipped now anyway. I completed a full playthrough on Ryujinx and haven't noticed any unusual behavior beside that point*(yet)*, even graphically or audibly. While doing my IGT tests for the Discord yesterday, I also didn't notice Edit: Both emulators have some IGT pacing issues during cutscenes. I elaborate on all of this, because I know eventually somebody is going to ask about it. Anyway, I don't mind too much regardless, but options are nice.

I just came here to have a good time running and routing with others. Multiple people inside the community repeatedly tried to ruin that. I hope you don't believe I want to be throwing away days of my life stressing over petty garbage like this. Sure, I could have just left without doing any of the above, but that's not constructive in any capacity. "Borderline harassment" is why the above even exists. There's so many more important things in life than letting assholes try to walk all over you and friends in a niche speedrun community. What is the point of conforming to things that make you and your friends feel like shit? I came here to have fun with people optimizing a cool game, not feel oppressed the whole time. It's anti-fun and people take themselves way too seriously. I voiced my frustration more than enough. I simply don't want any part of it anymore. VGR was the most sensible of the group involved—he did a lot of things right. Good luck to this community moving forward. If removing this thread is something you want to do to help people move on, I'd understand. I don't like seeing it either. *You know what, I'll just do it for you.
