We've received quite a few category proposals for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet in these forums.

Note that any categories with very arbitrary goals (such as most of the ones already requested in these forums) will not be added to the main leaderboard, but to a Category Extensions leaderboard for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet. Our policy regarding those runs is to require people having done runs of those categories before requesting a leaderboard for them. We ask you to refrain from requesting a category without having a video displaying said category.

As with every category extension, we discuss the creation of a category only once at least run has been completed by someone. This specifically sounds like just a purely luck based run, so it would probably be declined.
Hello everyone. We are open for any proposals in regard to adding new categories to our BDSP category extensions leaderboards.
Please post these requests below this post.
Some of the rules before requesting a new category:
- You must have completed at least one run of the proposed category.
- The goal and the restrictions should not be too arbitrary. The goal of the category should have some appeal in a casual sense of the game or just be a common meme.
Please also request Alt Main Pokes requests here if you have completed a run of this.
Please specify the ruleset that is used for your category precisely, in order for us to be able to copy them over easily.

As far as I know this has been done already. Also afaik at least Azelf can be obtained before the 8th gym and people have actually considered using it for the main speedrun.

There is a separate category for emulators, which is called ENG (Emu). All rules can be found there, including the Emulator to use.
WHY CAN I STILL NOT HIDE MODERATION PRIVACY INFORMATION?
The Switch Pokémon speedrunning community has also decided to join other communities in the blackout. We will not verify a single run and any site moderation until the core of the issue gets addressed. This update does not change the main concern: leaderboard moderators do not want to moderate comments! Especially not if they have no way to see runs that have comments.
Therefore, once again, Elo: allow leaderboards to disable this feature entirely at the very least.
And while you're at it, our moderators also dislike your privacy invading "feature" that shows how actively they moderate and what games they follow. This needs to go!
This is the official announcement made to our community: "As a result of the recent direction of speedrun.com and in solidarity with the other communities impacted by the site's recent changes, the Switch Pokémon Speedrunning moderation team is suspending verification of leaderboard submissions.
The speedrun.com page will remain dormant and we will not verify runs until speedrun.com allows disabling of comments and gives regular moderators the ability to delete comments.
We apologize for any runs waiting in the queue to be verified."
Guys can you please not spam the comments. My mum bought me this new laptop and it gets really hot when the comment section is being spammed. Now my leg is starting to hurt because it is getting so hot. Please, if you don’t want me to get burnt, then dont spam the comment section.
