I haven't made the rules. They were just thoughts. I'm not in this for myself since ladder skips was snooze's suggestion. We haven't even decided as a community if we are going to use load remover or not
I did miss the message actually I do apologise.
The problem is that we can't come to a sensible discussion of the rules. I will happily move it to glitched if everyone wants it. Including my own run. Not a problem. Just get all the runners together and decide
Can we keep on topic of stamina regen or can we move onto other points that I mentioned in my original post? Because I would really like to get a defined ruleset and adjust the runs accordingly
Now you guys are just being disrespectful and acting like children.
If someone runs this games who has spasm's, they will not be discriminated against.
If someone is aiming fairly regularly when there is nothing to aim at, then they are abusing the system to gain speed. That would be against the rules if implemented. one accidental click of a button would not be against the rules.
My point is don't do it intentionally to gain speed. If you want to use the exploit, do it in glitched
I'm going to try and explain the "Stamina Manipulation Exploit" as much as I can. I will start off with a definition of a glitch. This is from Speed Runs Live, one of the longest standing website that tracks speedruns and showcases races. They define a glitch as - "Glitch - Unintentional mistake in the game's code, often exploited"
So applying this logic to the stamina manipulation, it was probably intended by the developers that when you aim, you move forward slightly, but it was not intended for the player to be able to move faster than the speed cap of holding down sprint with this. So in essence, there was a mistake in the coding, making this a glitch. Not by my definition, but from the definition of a reputable source.
Now lets take a look at Cuphead. For those unfamiliar with the game, there is a glitch called "Weapon Swap Exploit". The game allows you to have a primary and a secondary shooter. You can swap between them with one press of a button. The devs intended this. Each shooter has different attributes, ranging from damage, fire rate and range among others. Stronger weapons typically have shorter range and lower firerate. Now, if you change weapons quickly, repeatedly, you can cancel the cooldown time in between each shot fired. This can be used to kill bosses very fast and saves a lot of time on runs. The devs did not intend for this to happen.
Yes. The devs intended for the player to be able to switch weapons as many times and as fast as they liked, but did not intend for the increased fire rate. The community of cuphead defined this exploit as - Weapon Swap Exploit is defined as: “the intentional misuse of weapon swapping in order to avoid weapon cooldowns.” This glitch is NOT allowed in the glitchless runs Cuphead, which is a somewhat similar example to this.
Hope this helps. Thoughts are welcome
Stamina manipulation - Aiming every second so that you can recover more stamina and run faster than the developers of the game intend you to run Resets that de-spawn enemies on chapter 4, you can load an autosave on certain difficulties and despawn 3-4 enemies and makes a fight a lot easier Ladder Skips - running next to a ladder and falling down it instead of climbing down it
I think the best definition of this is to play the game the way it was intended. So we are going to go with
-No gunpowder infinite ammo -No Stamina manipulation -No flings -No OoB -No Clipping -No resets that de-spawn enemies -No ladder skips
Anything that I have forgotten, please feel free to add. Thoughts?
still a pointless category. If you want to run NG+, do it on an easier difficulty.
Happen to have any videos of this? The game is quite buggy. When I finishing my first run, the environment around me disappeared and i landed ion the corner of the map. really weird.
It's not about having the fastest time on a certain console. As of right now, it's pretty safe to say that my 1:38'23 and 1:39'05" are the best runs on the boards in terms of optimisation. (Not trying to blow my own horn but a lot of people will agree)
If someone does a run that is as optimised as my runs, I will change the categories so that people can run on an emulated potato and call it a WR. Until then, people need to put time into their runs and make them better. I have put ATLEAST 800 hours into CVX, and to have someone else come out of the woodwork and do a shit run and call it a WORLD RECORD is very degrading.
That's your problem and nobody else's
For someone who doesn't have the PS3 version, they seem to have a time on the board
