The best thing I can suggest is practice with the propeller. If you're having trouble speedrunning through Bowser's Castle with the propeller, practice playing through it casually. Speed will come the more you get used to it. And if you're having difficulty playing through it casually, I recommend watching some videos of other players going through that part to show you the best routes. :)
Welcome to the community, Drud! I wish you the best of luck on your runs!! :)
Okay. Thanks!
There's an account called "judebie245" that is just going around spamming. They have no runs on their account, and they are only spamming. Is there a specific place to report them? Here's a link to their profile: http://www.speedrun.com/judebie245/allposts
I really like this. I'll be glad to help, though my answers probably aren't really good. :)
Firstly how much practice do you do for some of your attempts? I know some records will take much more time to get right than others but a rough idea would be great. It depends on the game. I usually dive into "New Super Mario Bros Wii" with no practice, while with "Xenoblade Chronicles", I generally practice for around 30 minutes. "Eternal Senia" usually takes around 10 minutes for me to practice.
What are some of your favorite games to set records on? Why? All the ones I listed above, haha. "NSMBW" was the first game I ever did a speed-run of. It's fun, fast, easy, and the community is pretty friendly. "Xenoblade" and "Eternal Senia" aren't quite as well known, but it's fun to improvise the different strategies in order to get the best times.
Finally, how often have you repeated record attempts, either to beat your own record or to better someone else's? I've done around 10 for "Xenoblade", 15 for "Eternal Senia", and over 40 for "New Super Mario Bros Wii", haha.
Welcome, King! I wish you the best of luck on your runs!! The best place to go is the leader-boards for the particular game you're wanting to run, which is "Banjo Kazooie" in this case. Here's the link to the leader-boards and forums: http://www.speedrun.com/bk/forum
I highly recommend watching the top records in the leader-board, which will show you the fastest way to get through the game. (Unless you find an even faster way).
Once again, I wish you the best of luck!! :)
This sounds awesome. I do have a couple questions, though. First, when is the deadline to submit runs? And second, will we be streaming from our homes, and then you re-stream the runs? Or will the runners all be meeting up in person?
Okay, thanks!! Now to get back to running the game...as soon as it stops glitching on me, LOL. xDD
Welcome to the community, Judas! I wish you the best of luck on your runs! :D
Welcome to the community, Etereke! I wish you the best of luck on your runs!! :D
I've seen some people run using the English version, while some using the traditional Chinese. Does one version have less text than the other (so as to go slightly faster), or does it not matter?
I believe Ending 3 is around 20 seconds longer, due to one or two extra bits of text. But other than that, there's no difference.
I don't see it stated if the event is in person, or if it's an online event. Which one is it?
