I want to know the community consensus and create a written rule on the use of AHK scripts to change inputs to the game. I don't have a numpad on my tenkeyless keyboard so I've rebound the number keys to their respective numpad buttons so I don't have to use the cursor to type codes. Similarly, speedycube and I use the resolution script on Tombaugh to gain higher fps and make the launch more consistent.
I wanted to know how people feel about, for example, mapping the 1,2,3, and 4 keys to numpad3, numpad5, numpad4, and numpad8, respectively, to make the first code a simple consistent movement instead of risking a mistake in typing the code.
Another area where remapping may benefit the player outside of hardware limitations is remapping the scroll wheel to the F key or jump function. This would allow frame perfect button and screen interactions in the 0g sections and frame perfect jumps on sections where that would be beneficial.
I personally feel like remapping and AHK scripts should be allowed only to overcome hardware limitations like having a slow computer or no number pad but shouldn't be allowed like in the example in the two former paragraphs. If you guys feel like it's okay then I'll use it but I figured this discussion would be better had before hand.
