They made fizzy wine gums and I'm hooked on the red ones. Wake me up a bit during cutscenes.
Closed-minded dickheads who don't understand or accept other people's viewpoints when discussing game and category rules.
I know this isn't necessarily a speedrunning issue, but I seem to see a fair amount of these people dotted around the site. People are generally all against these people, which is nice to see.
I don't understand you @SpeedWaluigi ... You respond to the thread, and then 3 days later call it a shitpost?
Also, you never contribute to anything, you only ever say "omg shitpost" or "is this even worth a thread". It's pointless, really.
Apparently this is where I report users. https://www.speedrun.com/user/Jarhead_71 was banned a while back for trolling and spamming discords. He came back very soon after, same name, same pfp, some of his runs even got transferred over.
He's back at it again. Came into the speedrunning community discord under an alt and trolled there. He still has the same toxic attitude in various game forums that he was banned for. It's the most blatant ban evade ever, and kinda defeats the point of being banned in the first place.
Still, having the collection of milestones that the splits would provide is better than nothing. Sometimes even small things like that can help you improve.
Proof-wise: yes, splits are pretty much useless. They add absolutely nothing to proof at all. Please don't interpret the following as me trying to defend splits as a proof method in any way.
However, splits are better than no splits - they are still usefull, in other ways. Competitors can get an idea of how good they are on certain areas compared to other runners, and documentation-wise it helps add more detail to the leaderboards.
When I say a lot, I mean it. There are literally thousands of games on this site. Unless the number is going to be absolutely massive, there will always be a problem of inactive games spoiling the list.
Seperating 'official' games from hacks won't do much. There are plenty of 'official' games which have little to no competition.
I mean, you could give each game a "Best WR" score, and do something like Number of Active Players - Days WR Has Stood For, or something similar to that, this could help factor in competitiveness. Obviously, my example formula won't work, but some sort of algorithm can be made.
And yeah, untied records only sounds good to me.
If it's a valid run that they've retimed and checked theirselves then I don't see a problem with this. I guess it's a frowned upon practice, but it's perfectly fine to me. If you actually see a problem (ie. A fake run done and verified by a mod) then that's a cause for concern. But as far as I know that's not happened in the game.
The mods are not crooks, they just want their runs verified faster. I think they deserve it - they are taking time out of their lives to verify a game.
None. I am completely uninterested in games I don't run. Which is why I don't run them.
@Hangslowandriseshigh click on 'Help/Contact' and scroll down a bit, there will be a link titled 'Submit a Game Request'.
Also, he probably did it on stream or something similar, and a moderator witnessed it, making it valid.
Here's a joke for you:
Did you take out a payday loan last month?
Because I want my fucking money back. Now.
Hate to be patronising, but I see a lot of people make this mistake.
Make sure it's WiiVC not WiiU VC!
WiiU VC has awful input lag, don't even try using it.
