Do I take off time between levels, or is it inclusive of everything from first level selected to last star pop-up?

I have a version of Gun Smoke on my arcade machine in my house. I’m getting quite good at it, still haven’t completed it yet!! Was wondering if I should ask for this to be submitted as a different game as it differs significantly from this game.
