Thank you for your better explanation. I'm wondering why HappyLee pressed L at the floor clip, but I guess it was just for fun, to make it a clip setup it would be 1f too late anyways, that always confused me. Also thank you for mentioning that 455 is TAS timing, for any reason I always thought it were RTA timing.
there were. The floor clip in 1-2 is pixel and frame perfect, because the reason why you can clip through the ground is, that your y-position gets manipulated by 1 pixel by the jump of the elevator, which is extremley hard to time for a human. Also, you need to press L right in the frame when you touch the ground to clip through. But the biggest timesaves in this run are still the FPGs. On PAL, you can do a full Flagpole glitch (FFPG) in every Level, which saves a bunch of time (idk how many framerules, Im'm a noob in smb1). If you wondered now, what a FFPG is, it's what happens at Bullet Bill Glitch (BBG) in 8-2. Instead of only touching the flag a bit lower due a clip into the block, you touch it way lower, so mario clips out of the block and the timer starts to count down instantly. On PAL, you can do that on every Flagpole, I believe because of speed value changes, without needing any enemy. This FFPG is extremely precised, it requires 4 frame perfect inputs in a row, what is literally impossible for human. It's a long time ago that I watched this TAS (I also made a TAS of the PAL Version, but I couldn't manage to beat HappyLee), but I believe that were all major timesaves. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, I already mentioned that I'm a smb1 noob. Btw sorry for all the grammar mistakes, I still have to improve my English a lot
Well, the way mario 64 works is different to other games. In mario 64, there are no loading zones behind doors, the doors are the loading zones, so you can't enter the basement without opening the key door or the moat door, because opening them is what makes them activate. Same thing there fir upstairs door, you can get behind it, but you cannot go upstairs because you didn't open the door, so you are still in the lobby loading zone
"Why is akkis BLJ succes rate so high" or so on yt, that helps a lot.
"Probably nerves, but..." That's it, nerves, no but
It's not only the pause buffering shit that makes it impossible, also the PU movement to get to the moat door, everything in moat skip is impossible for human, at least in the current way to do it. Maybe, one day someone will found a human viable setup for it, but with the current strats it's impossible for human
you can enter wf with an lblj without, you dont have to do bombclip, but how would you enter a PU in wf?
You can half clip in, that's what is done at fpg, but you get pushed out by the game as soon as you clipped. Right as the others said, you would need an enemy for that.
I tried it today in my stream and it's actually cool LUL
I have one, it works perfect. You just need of course the expansion pack for your n64
I haven't thought about a salt cless wr so far, but I'm pretty sure anyone has done it already with the gwk. If you want to you can try it with the gwk to get an insane time, but learning that gwk is pretty hard to learn and you'll never get 100% consistent at it
The setup I use is this Capture card https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B08NYHLVX1/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=hdmi+video+capture&qid=1619304259&sprefix=hdmi+video+&sr=8-4
And this splitter to catch the video signal before it gets delayed https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B0732MD43P/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=hdmi+video+splitter&qid=1619304361&sprefix=hdmi+video+s&sr=8-4
I use this Setup for several months now for all of my consoles everyday and it still works fine
The rules tell you you have to unlock the doors, so its obv that its banned to clip through. No reason to change the rules. Btw thank you for reminding me on 50 star, seems pretty funny, I'll try it
