Old skip, not really useful for anything since any% is already a lot faster than that and no other category can use it.
You're playing on PS4, there's no way to stop livesplit at the loadscreens. Only way to time the loadscreens on console runs is manually. You can just time the loadscreens and add them up, or if you want a precise time you need to use a video editor and edit out the loadscreen frames. It's not really necessary except for top times.
So gut check prevents fall damage? Wonder if there's any other place where this could be used. Can't think of any.
Yes that's what I'm talking about. All you do in it is hit continue, so you barely see it.
The other runs haven't cut anything, the main menu just takes only like 0.2 seconds, because all you do is hit continue.
Time is without loads, so only thing that doesn't count is the green loadscreen. Menuing is timed so you have to do it as quickly as possible.
Saving doesn't fix it, of course that has been tried.
I actually meant adding the time to japanese runs, but either way works.
15s is a lot once a run is really optimized, if someone basically got the same run as Xer1an, but on censored version, it would be pretty much unbeatable without new strats on uncensored version. Does that really have to happen before something is done? Or maybe we could time the amount it saves and add that to censored version, that's fair for both I'd say.
Sure it's not usually done on speedruns, but does that mean it can't be done?
Yeah you don't need one, we retime the runs anyway. It's more convenient for us mods though if you do have one.
No, biohazard is included in the title on this game. I'm sure everyone knows that it's the original/japanese title. But for some reason this time they decided the include it even here in the west. Just look at the official web site http://residentevil7.com/
That Evie fight...I don't understand why, but I did a run from the keycards to the end to test if the save file I was using had something to do with the fact that it was working for me every time while not for others. It doesn't work now. so that's useless I guess, have to do more research. But how can you practice anything if you can't even trust that loading from save gives you accurate fight?
No it's not, just helps you see where you lose or save time.
I already posted these in discord, but might as well post here.
Both strats are done on easy difficulty, so no idea how they work on other difficulties due to change in enemy speed. Also note that the enemy behavior seems to change if you reset, so to test the strats on run condition you need to load the last save instead.
Here you want to shoot Jack's leg as you leave the room, because this seems to take him longer to recover compared to shooting his chest for example. Then once you are downstairs shoot before you reach the clock. I don't know if the timing matters too much, since I've tried early and late, seems to work nonetheless.
Once you grab the head you can shoot to make sure Jack notices you, although depending when he dropped down this might not be needed.
After you pass the point where he would normally come through the door, shoot him to make sure he's not following you to the main hall, because then you won't be able to do the shadow puzzle.
As you can see I did four examples, where I just have the aiming reticle away from her. This seems to make her less aggressive/slower, so you can one cycle her. I got each of these first try starting from the mine save point, and haven't failed the one cycle since realizing this, except when I miss the first block altogether. The block timing isn't too precise it seems, as long as you get it. Doesn't have to be last second, although it is a bit faster if it is.
All I can say that for me, the difference with vsync and without was obvious, without I never got the sound you get when you get lot of hits at once, only couple of hits.
I thought she doesn't take damage on the window?
