It definitely has a few levels that are brutal casually that can seem deceptively easy during a run (Elevator is usually the main example). You'll get the hang of it though! The mechanic makes it incredibly friendly to newbies, so you can ease into the strats.

A lot = a handful Pick on runs = pointing out the fact that you used a save state in your run in order to manipulate RNG
I think that's perfectly fair to question you on that. It doesn't help getting people on your side when you have a volatile reaction to it.
RE is the main example of runs getting rejected for having music. Just check with the mod and if they allow it. Tends to be a case-by-case thing.

Don't think he's asking about marathons. Each game has its own set of rules and guidelines but for most you just need a recording of the run as well as following the specific rules for the game. There's a "View Rules" button found on the top right whenever you're looking at a game on the site that should tell you everything you need to know.
It's already been submit by runners. They'll add it when they get through requests, patience is important. The game just came out.
Half-Life series, Doom, Bioshock series, Deus Ex series, Superhot, Lovely Planet, Hotline Miami 1 or 2 to name a few. Honestly go with games you've played and enjoyed, give the run a look, and see if that looks like something you'd be interested in putting time into learning and running.
The game has already been request, people are actively running it right now.
If he's been inactive for that long and it doesn't look like there's a good means to contact him by (or you've tried all of them), read the first post in this thread and post about the situation there. They should be open to giving your moderation since he's not been around for 3 months.
Usually 1-2 weeks for a game or series to be verified, but there were some issues with the system they were using for it so you'll have to be patient.
Snes_fanatic, if there's not a problem with the current moderation or inactivity, ask the existing mods if you'd like to be one. This is a last resort thread, please read the first post.
Call of Juarez Gunslinger for first game and Superhot for probably the best I'd imagine.
Think that would drag out a lot of the stealthier levels and mostly just replace weapon strats with drop kicks but go for it if you'd like to run the category, see if there's some interesting strats involved.

I find that for most games the majority of my time practice is the first month after learning a game, when I'm still trying to get comfortable with the techniques and tricks involved. So initially I spend more time practicing than actually doing runs, but the longer I run the game the more it shifts the other way and the more it becomes about grinding attempts and just getting the strategies in a run that I already know. Some runs that aren't quite as popular will only take a couple attempts to get a record for, but others like Superhot, it took 3-4 months of grinding to go from my first run to the WR, with a lot of sections of relearning and repracticing levels as people came up with different ways of going through them. Really the time spent practicing comes down to how much a runner cares about the run and their personal mindset towards running. Some people prefer to just start running as soon as possible, while others (I fit more into this group) practice a ton and want to feel prepped for their first run. Neither is wrong, just different approaches.
As mentioned above, Superhot meant a lot because it was a lot of grinding and effort put into it. When I first started running the game I got to a point where I was about 2 minutes off the record but had no clue how I'd be able to save that additional time. So going from that to actually getting to a point where I had a legitimate chance was a good feeling. The records I'm proud of are the ones I've put time into and feel like they're about as clean as they can get, such as Call of Juarez Gunslinger. It's less about the title of a "world record" for me and more about the quality of the run I've had.
Currently, just for the main Any% category, I've got about 4600 attempts with Superhot, about 2000 of those coming after I already beat the record. Only around a hundred of those are completed runs. Other games vary from a thousand attempts to a few hundred depending on how long I've been running them. Attempt count does depend a lot of the length of the game and how early the first few reset points are, so that can be a bit misleading.

You probably have the "Has PB in Game" setting selected on the Streams page. If the game request is still pending it wouldn't see that you have a PB in the game.
