@iriebutler I'd like to apologize for my absence from the site. I've verified your runs for you.
I've just removed my Twitter from my SRC page. It's a terrible way to reach me and should never have been put on this site.
I'd like to point out that a YouTube comment or a Reddit PM are much better ways of reaching me, since they send me an email and a push notification to my phone. A forum post in the game forum would have been a good idea too.
I'm sorry that Discord didn't let you send me messages without being my friend, but I've accepted your request in case you need to get ahold of me in the future. I've also joined the SRC Discord so that this doesn't happen to anyone in the future who needs to contact me.
Sorry again for any inconvenience experienced.
Assuming you're using something like LiveSplit, you set up a hotkey to split in the settings.
I personally have it set up so that a footpedal splits, so I don't have to take my hands off the keyboard/mouse.
Weird, my Mayflash adapter works fine. Do you have the PS2/N64/SS one or the only N64 one?
Ah man, that sucks. I was really excited for it. That was probably the deciding factor in me running on console tbh, my N64 controller sucks and I cba to pay $80 for a horipad
I personally have a footpedal that I use for splits, so I never have to take my hands off the controller. Before I got that I used hotkeys on my keyboard.
Any mainstream console controller from the past several years (PS2-PS4, XBox-Xbox One) will work, or an original N64 controller with an adapter. I personally use a PS2 controller.
@Icy_Wolf21 where tf do you live where N64's are $100-$400? I got mine at a local retro store for $40 with all cables and one controller included, eBay has them for $50-$60 at a quick glance.
Region lock on the N64 is just some tabs in the cartridge slot and the cutouts on the cartridge. Remove the tabs on the slot and it'll play both US and Japanese games. Here's a good guide on how to remove the tabs https://assemblergames.com/threads/cleaning-and-region-modding-a-japanese-n64-to-play-u-s-games.60113/
"Intended strats" as a category was suggested numerous times on the OG SotC leaderboards, but was never added due to lack of interest from the community as a whole iirc.
@drobins You would buy a composite capture card (around $20 on Amazon) to pass the video signal to your computer to be recorded.
I personally use OBS Studio for recording, and LiveSplit for splits.
Unfortunately, the real determining factor of whether you have "lag free recording" or not is going to be your system, not the software (generally).
Yup, gotta wiggle the cart left or right sometimes. You'll get a feel for the position you need for your specific console in time.
Could also help to bend the pins on your 72 pin connector to get a better grip, lots of guides on YouTube on how to do that.
I also use PS2.

@roopert83 do you notice that the colors on your TV shift slightly when you plug in the composite cables? Mine do, it's weird.
I'd like to request Super Mod in the game Zoop (https://www.speedrun.com/Zoop). The game has had a leaderboard on this site for nearly three years. In that three years, not a single run has been posted. There's no cover art, not even platforms. The release date is the only info of the game on the page, and the single category on the leaderboard has no rules defined.
If I were given Super Mod I would completely finish the page, with platforms, cover art, and other game information. I'd add IL runs, and give them (along with the current category) rules. And, of course, I'd actually run it.
The sole mod of Zoop at this time (astropancakes) has been offline for around nine months.
Right now 10, because I never really learned to play it skipless since the skip was so easy, and I haven't learned the new skip yet.
