I've added a different game for the DX release.
I'm going on the assumption that there will be enough differences in timing etc that it should be on its own. I haven't created any categories, if someone sees this and wants to be a mod then let me know (discord or twitter is best)
I've got a post in the series forum saying I'm planning on requesting series mod, and the main reason I'm doing so is to split up this game.
I'd like to split this game into the following games:
- Arcade (and Arcade-equivalent ports)
- Genesis/Mega Drive
- SMS
- PC-Engine
- Game Gear (newly requested)
Does anyone strongly object to this? If so, please provide reasons you object.
I have found over the years that separating games like this leads to the best experience with the site, since potential moderators aren't notified of games they aren't qualified to run, and it enables better categorization rather than putting platform as the main category name.
Thanks for reading.
I'm writing this to see if anyone who may pay attention to this (not expecting anyone) would object to me requesting series mod.
I would have no power over games I don't moderate and the main power used would be to create new games.
The reason I'm looking to request this is because I want to split the main OutRun game leaderboard into multiple games based on platform. I'm posting in that game's forum to see if anyone objects strongly.
Gauging interest in a series relay, ideally this December (2017)

I've changed this game to use subcategories instead of three separate categories for hard, normal, and easy.
If people hate this for some reason let me know and I can change it all back.
This seemed like an equivalent structure for this leaderboard and I wanted to try it.
Donald Land was put in the Disney series.
AFAIK Disney doesn't own McDonald's (yet)
I'm looking for runners who might want to submit the classic Mickey mouse "Illusion" games for a relay at ESA.
Right now, I have 5 games in mind due to amount of runners. Quackshot could be included if there are enough runners. I'm looking for two teams.
The games/categories:
¤ Castle of Illusion (SMS) any% ¤ Castle of Illusion (Genesis) any% ¤ Land of Illusion (SMS) any% or 100% ¤ World of Illusion (Genesis ) any% Mickey, Donald, or Co-op ¤ Legend of Illusion (SMS) any%
Setup ideas include using 4 stations to stagger setup, or two of the same everdrives (-MD / Mega-).
Update 1: 2015-02-15
For now, I'll just list what people have offered.
Thanks everyone for the response. I really hope this happens.
Names in brackets haven't explicitly shown interest in this thread, but were mentioned or have mentioned it before.
Castle SMS: btrim, [Mephistus,] KrazyRasmus
Castle Gen: JohnUK89, MaxieTheHatter,Tenebrae, [Alowishus]
Land: btrim, [Mephistus,] KrazyRasmus, Edenal
World: ¤ Co-op: Edenal & [Grukk], [Pogington & FingersTehHand] ¤ Mickey: Edenal, MaxieTheHatter, Tenebrae, [Charleon] ¤ Donald: Edenal, MaxieTheHatter, Tenebrae
Legend: btrim, Edenal, KrazyRasmus
Quackshot: Tenebrae, MaxieTheHatter
Regarding commentary: Edenal's offer to learn for commentary is really important. I've also sent a feeler message to Blechy for remote commentary. If the logistics of that worked out, we'd have a really good team of mostly dedicated commentators.
I have removed myself as mod from the majority of games I don't have a runner's interest in.
I never wanted to be a mod for everything "Disney," I just wanted to have leaderboards for my Mickey Mouse games.
Things I ¤cannot¤ help you with unless you see my name in the mods list for a game:
- Add / change mod/supermod
- verify your run
- Add a category
Things I ¤can¤ help you with, but is best done through the game request form:
- Add a new game to the site, under this series
What's the process for adding a series or game? I'd like to have leaderboards for the Alex Kidd and Mickey Mouse "Illusion" (or just Mickey Mouse in general) series.
Thanks.
