ohh he could try Ill see what happened I mean that's what we did the first time and it still didn't work which is why I had copied mine in the first place

I copied my working source unpack onto google drive so he could download it and I had him put it inside of the same file path as I did I tested out the files that I copied before I gave it to him but no I haven't tried that but It would take a while because of google drive upload times taking over an entire day

yes, he does I know of all these basic things he is logged in online steam is open because I went through these problems myself the thing is he shouldn't be having the same problem unless he has an issue with file authority? could that be possible?

yes I said it in the post I said "He does have an account that has portal..." also wdym by I also need to be logged into steam because the game works for me it just doesn't work for him

pls HELP! so I tried helping my friend start speedrunning and source unpack wasn’t working so I just copied my source unpack folder and gave it to him. When he starts his.CMD it doesn’t start the game let alone the engine no errors pop-up so I’m guessing the. CMD won’t start the engine and the CMD opens and runs through all the code it just doesn’t start the engine and portal doesn't start. He does have an account that has portal it is just after running the. CMD it just sits there saying its been done successfully and that’s the end of that. I did try to post this on source runs forums but I'm guessing its dead because it been 20 days and the moderator still hasn't messaged back

(P.S he does have a weird program that uses .dat files so one of the files does have an associated program if that could be the issue)
