The rules were written before the PS5 was released. I'll rewrite them to include the PS5 and the Xbox Series consoles.
Scy, She was giving the advice for what NOT to do to avoid a softlock.
On that note, Another one to avoid doing is Rex Fury Astronaut on FMTTM (Fly Me to the Moon). The game will not let you continue past the second phase of the Rex fight and onto the falling to earth freefall section.
Just so you are aware, we currently have no plans to add this category to either the main leaderboards or the Category Extensions.
If it's on "A"; Press down on your stick, d-pad or whatever the input is and it will be blank. Otherwise just scroll up or down on the list until you get the blank which will be before "A" and after "0", if you think of the order while pressing up as going through the alphabet and numbers, while pressing down does it backwards.
Any% allows the skip, the current categories that don't allow the skip is All Chapters and Undercover%.
Yes, or any other runner who would like to help us figure out the time to subtract from the cutscenes.
It was recently discovered on the LEGO City Undercover discord that we can enter the final level of the game "Fly Me to the Moon" near the beginning of the game due to placement of triggers of every level. Because of this it was decided by the community to rename the original Any% runs as "All Chapters" runs. This change can also encourage any runner to do routing found and refined over the years for these runs. Both All Chapters and Undercover% runs will disallow the use of the discovery, so that the runs will play through the game's story in it's entirety.
If there are any questions regarding this change, please feel free to leave them here.
I agree with TrenttheN642, this seems more like a thing you see in glitch exhibitions for games instead of an actual speedrun category.
It could be a more fitting category if LCU had category extensions, and not one that should be shared with the traditional Any% and 100% categories. But, I don't really see that happening anytime soon.
Hello, Ignition is one of my Childhood games and have been interested running this game for a while. However, I felt it I should bring up to the community here that there is a fan site holding times for the tracks in this game. The leaderboards on the site haven't been updated since 2008, and the times on the ghost files suggest the times were done in 1999-2001.
I found while looking at the Wikipedia article of the game, which only contains just a handful of sentences. I don't know if this needs to be placed on the Speedrun.com since there is no video footage of these runs, only ghost data. I figured it should be mention here in case there hasn't been any knowledge of this leaderboard.

On the WiiU, Red Bricks should most likely be ignored as you need to wait for 2 minute-long loading screens so that they can be purchased, which is what you need to do to use them in the run on the original.
For train stations, you can watch Trajan's WR or my PB, on the original version not the remaster, for an idea on on any train stations to get; I also have this video:
Which showcases a possible time save for the game.
The stations to get that are known time savers are the ones in Auburn, Pagoda, Airport (possible), Uptown (Remaster), Downtown (Remaster), Fresco (Remaster), and Festival Square (possible)
This is with the Any% category in mind
That's an interesting idea for a Category... But we would all have to come to the conclusion of where to start and what restrictions we would need.
We are starting to mention it in the Discord server, if you are interested in talking about it with the rest of the community on ideas you have for this category.

The extended chicken glide is an abuse of switching characters and immediately jumping as the farmer to allow for glides that are longer than normal. It is quite tricky to pull off, but some cool strats have been found using it already, with a few saving loads of time. I have a video showing off how to do it if you are interested.
