I made a request in the general forum a day ago in order to add mods as I also think that @Wakonow2 is not going to return soon, or at least not as any soon as we need him.
Anyway, "Baba Is End" and "Baba Is All" are the only names which could work for categories so if we make any other categories (e.g All Clears/All Flowers), it would not make sense to have some "Baba Is Xxx" mixed with regular categories.
It could be nice but definitely not very convenient (and not to everyone's taste).
Why End"%". If you have a 100% it makes more sense to do an Any% category.
There will probably be an All Clears/All Flowers category too but, atm we don't really have enough info to know what could be considered as completion/percentage runs (All Clears/All Flowers/All Levels/100% etc.) unless you've already completed the game :p.
Imo, it's cool to have the categories named according to the achievements but I don't think it would be really clear unless each category is bound to an achievement with a meaningful name ("Baba Is End" for Any% & "Baba Is All" for 100%).
And if we make the categories name according to the game, we could make subcategories "Is Glitch" and "Not Glitch", even if I don't really think if there will be a point for glitched runs for other categories than Any%.
Nice find! So you can beat the game only by doing the level zero and the final one? That will be a sad category but it's good to know x)
Hello. The only moderator of https://www.speedrun.com/Baba_Is_You is inactive since a bit more than 3weeks. He doesn't have any useful social media link so I can't contact him. Since the full version of the game has been released recently (the info/categories of the game are still for the game demo), I'd like to know if I can be a mod on this game to update the game and add categories since we are some people to wait for a true leaderboard? Thanks.
I've added the Switch Autosplitter in the resources + updated the instructions in the Autosplitter guide. The Video Auto Splitter component is still in beta so I've only implemented a load remover for now. But I plan to add splits when it'll be more stable.
And to answer your question, if you don't use a load remover, you can still submit the time with loads as the time without loads. But you'll lose a lot of time especially if you are running on Switch. (8bit run is ~15s of loads for PC and ~80s for Switch).
I saw an old post for a problem with the apostrophe encoding in game pages https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/2ykbr but apparently, it wasn't fixed for categories/subcategories in the runner profiles https://www.speedrun.com/user/Tiouz It is possible to fix that too?
EDIT: the encoding is also wrong in the run's history on the main page and categories so it's probably wrong in some other places too. EDIT2: all the categories with this issue aren't displayed in the WR graph as well.
Well, in the end, I just wrote a Tampermonkey script to automatically "open->edit->invert load/loadless times->apply" every run in the leaderboard.
Thanks again for the help !
@Twan_Jones I'm a Super Mod but like I said we have ~700runs in the leaderboard so it's not "just fine in editing the times on submissions" when we have that many runs and when we could have a small button/option to change all the runs in loads instead of loadless. But in any case, I don't understand why the "separate load times" would put the times in loadless since, if you are using this option that means you want to remove the loads from the real time/ingame time so the current time is obviously with loads ... (if you were already using loadless and wanted to add realtime you would already be using "separate load times" with the option to hide the realtime :/)
And sadly @Anderson, I can't do that either since we need to remove the loads from all existing runs manually (at least all the non-obsolete runs) so even if I uncheck it, all the runs are still going to be in the loadless column so that's not gonna help since all the existing runs have loads... unless we retime all the runs in one go before switching to loadless which would be a total mess (also since we were planning to retime runs bit by bit since it's really tedious to retime).
But thanks for the help. I hope a full mod will see this thread and will be able to help our community (and possibly avoid this problem in the future too) since it's just about to invert load/loadless otherwise we'll need to switch the times to loadless->load in every leaderboard runs to have a clean loadless/load ...
Hi !
Here is my problem:
I moderate a game called The Messenger and the community decided to switch to loadless.
So I checked "Separate load times" in the game parameters BUT all the current times are going into the "loadless time" column where they should go in the "load time" one.
I tried to deactivate and reactive it while switching the default time to "with" and "without" loads but nothing changed (I know it's to sort runs by loads or not but we never know).
Any ideas why it's behaving like that and/or how I can make it work correctly?
P.S : We have hundreds of runs so editing the times by hand isn't an option considering we should also change obsolete runs. I also took a look at the API but it doesn't seem to be possible to edit the runs except for the status and the players who participated so I can't inverse the load/loadless times with it either.
Well yeah the whole speedrun mode release is bugged. And when I'm speaking of the "speedrun mode release" I'm speaking of the version of the game. Like you could think of it as "1.0" was the version when the game was originally released and "1.1" is the speedrun mode. You can go back to the original version/release of the game using the steam console. And you can drop by on the Discord too If you have any specific/tricky question. And thanks :).
Hi ! Actually, the speedrun mode release introduces some bugs that are really bad for the speedrun. The main one is that you can't reset on the boss anymore so you can't get fast cycles. There are smaller ones too but they don't affect the run as much. The devs said they will fix these just after the release but it's been almost 3months and still no news from the devs or for any fixes. So you should definitely run on the old version for all the categories except for Second Run (where you don't care of the boss and save a lot of time with the Press Pass).
But if you still want to run on the speedrun mode release you can run on either speedrun mode or not since the leaderboard is using In-game time. So starting beside the sword and ending at the boss doesn't change anything except a shorter real time (which is optional anyway).
So I was glitch hunting when suddenly
I knew the devs had hidden some easter eggs in the memory of the game but apparently, there is also some in the levels :)
Hey ! Nice to see someone else interested in running this game too :).
I've set the start there because I wanted to get consistent with my splits since I split there on level transition too (using autosplitter) and since it's a visual change on which we can split but I've to admit it's definitely not the best place to start.
So I changed the start to "Timer starts when the beginning cutscene ends" so we can choose to watch the cutscene or not.
Maybe also some wizardry since I don't know what the glitchs do on the timer :x. Would that help if I do an autosplitter with load remover for the game ? I think that a load remover could remove the loading disparity but it will not fix the timer on the olds runs so maybe not the best solution ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
RTA can't be constant on a PC game that have loading since the hardware is playing a major role on the loading times length. So the reason why these 2 people have faster loading times is very likely due to a better hardware. But since it's the same thing for all the other games I don't see why Guacamelee should not be subject to that.
Sadly our mods are not able to change the logo for now but it should be changed in the next few days if all goes well :p
Nice! The only quibble about the title is that the "m" shouldn't be in one piece :P. But I definitely think that it would look amazing !
